This company thinks changing ownership removes them liability for the products thy manufactured prior to their take over. That's like a murderer changing his name to relieve himself from a crime.Review from John R

Would never purchase another Commodore home even if they called and offered it to me half price. Since the day the house was delivered we have dealt with shoddy workmanship, using the cheapest materials you could imagine. If we had purchased a cheap home then I wouldn't be upset, but to spend almost $200k on a home and have it look like someone with no skills threw it together just makes you sick to your stomach. Add on top of that getting anything fixed, repaired, resolved is almost impossible. The manufacturer doesn't want to stand behind it. I would never purchase nor send someone to deal with what me and my family has had to deal with. Both Managers they have in place to handle customer issues immediately claim everything is within their specs because apparently they have it in place so it doesn't even have to be close to perfect. This has to be the worst home experience I have ever had. How can BBB allow them to continue in business with these practices. We purchased our homes from Pinewood Homes in ************, **.Commodore Homes, LLC Response

Having read through the homeowners complaint and reviewed the file kept here at the factory, we are disappointed. We cherish our homeowners and value them not only as customers but also as persons. It is for that reason that we have covered many cosmetic issues that were reported beyond the 21-day cosmetic warranty reporting period (which is for the first 21 days of ownership). The reason being, if it is not reported during the walk thru of the home with the dealer at the time of purchase or with in twenty-one (21) days of the purchase date, it is more than likely the issue is the result of damage and not defect. We have repaired cosmetic issues outside of the 21 day period as a gesture of goodwill for this homeowner.
The home is approaching its second birthday of ownership, and it is well beyond the Commodore Homes Limited Warranty period of one year. Even so, recently we dispatched our contractor to make repairs to a range vent that by all indications was wind damaged- the internal flap was severely bent allowing wind driven elements to enter it. We replaced the vent and the microwave oven as a courtesy and at no cost to the homeowner. This concern should have submitted as a claim to their homeowners insurance for coverage/repair- but we took care of it.
Even though the home was manufactured as ordered and the design for the systems in the home are engineer stamped and HUD approved, the homeowner has requested several modifications be made to the home after it was installed on site. This is even after third-party inspectors providing assurance that no defects exist, and the systems are performing as designed.
We recognize that there are two sides to every story. We have committed significant financial resources, much time and effort into earning this homeowners satisfaction. Unfortunately, and regrettably it appears no amount of effort would be enough to accomplish that goal.
Sincerely,
The ****************** Commodore Homes of PAReview from Phyllis D

My husband and I purchased our home through coastline homes in ************ and our home is a commodore home out of ************ I'm assuming and we've had nothing but problems poor work inside it's not put together well we've had it for 5 years and now we're looking at putting a whole new roof on because of something that they didn't do and I feel as if we shouldn't be the ones that have to be doing that in 5 years of a brand new home we've asked for help from the place that we purchased the home and they have not helped us much at all so I would recommend not buying a single home from that company because it's not what you think and now I am so upset that we spent all this money a hard-working money to purchase his home and for it to just fall apartReview from Gregory P

My name is *********************************. I plan on expanding my real estate holdings to include ******** ******** as I have family there. I reached out to ******* Homes and was put in contact with *****************************. In a discussion with ***** in approximately May of 2023, I explained my background in real estate development over the past 40 years which included both Stick built and Modular homes and how I was interested in developing a relationship with a modular home factory to supply homes to me. I then set out to securing land. After securing approximately 18 acres of land that would yield about 50 ************* lots in September of 2023, I reached out to ***** to tell him the good news. I informed him that in good faith, I would purchase a single home to start the process off. The subdivision would take approximately 2 years to complete. Since I was relocating from out of state, this first home would be for myself so I would have a presence in ********. From September of 2023 till December of ****************************************************************************************************** December of 2023 I was told that I needed to be a licensed ******** contractor in order for them to sell me the home. I was like WTF? You waste months of my time before you spring this on me. Then ***************************** leaves ************ to work for Excel homes so it's no longer his problem. ***** gives me his replacements phone number which puts me in touch with a ***********************. I call *** and have to give him the ************** version of my situation as you would think ***************** have filled him in. *** was of no help which puts me in touch with ***************** the sales manager who refused to make the situation right. I have to say I am amazed that this company is still in business. All of this could have been avoided had they asked me right from the start if I had a contractors license from ********. This company is poorly operated. AVOID this place like the plague.Review from John N

Horrible customer service and cheap construction. We have had several issues with our home and they wouldn't take responsibility for it or talk to us directly. If I could return the house I would. We are very disappointed.Review from Brendan B

A horrible and unethical place to work. Nothing but illegal mob mentality there. The enjoy ridding of good employees by lynching them. If you need o surance for health, do not opt to work there. They will milk out the "probation period" and axe you . I've not seen such an unethical business or so called "union" operate in such a way in my entire life.Review from Geraldine F

I purchased a Commodore Home through a local mobile home park in November 2019. It is now three years later and I have had to redo one of my bathrooms to the toon of $7000 because the floor in the shower was starting to crack because of the inexpensive fiber glass used. Now I have to replace the kitchen sink because of ********* is turning brown. Again, inexpensive stainless steel. Because the house is out of warranty, I am responsible for these added expenses. Several days ago, I e-mailed them to find out where to buy the filters needed for the furnace, because they are an odd size. It's now three days later and there is no response. I don't understand how they rate an A+ rating! ************************************Review from Charles S

Very underhanded builder. The home we bought was supposed to be connect and go. The roof leaked for 6 months. The hot water heater was not connected to power or controller. The flooring was started from both sides of the house making a the flooring have to have seams or thresholds in the center of the house. ******* does not support the home after delivery. Do not buy from *******. I would have given zero stars but no way to do it.Review from Johnson J

We are the family of a disabled veteran. WE are hurt to have paid 280k for a home that now EVERY Cabinet in our home now appear to look 75 years old, its sad and WE cannot get anyone to come look at them or fix them from this company. The company has poor customer skills and their workmanship is extremely poor. I would not recommend this company to anyone. Its hurtful and it disgraces me.Review from Kelsey N

HORRIBLE service and workmanship from Commodore. We bought a home from Premier Homes, in ***********, IN. The home came from Commodore Homes of *******. When the home arrived, it had many issues, to the point we literally cried. I had sent an email to ***** (whom is the service lady) then, with no response about what they planned to do. Our home builders corrected everything they could, then sent a list to ***** and her team at Commodore Homes of IN. ***** received list and supposedly has ordered parts, which was confirmed in an email this morning (2/18/22). She also informed us that the dry rotten boards Commodore used to build our home in the attic will not be replaced. Our home inspector WILL NOT pass our home because our roof has at least 9 dry rotted boards. ***** says "As far as the boards, those boards are not rotten...We use a number 3 graded 2x." They maybe using these boards, but the particular ones on our roof ARE rotten. We have a lawyer on standby, since they are not wanting to complete the service that needs to be done. The cabinets for the kitchen, bathrooms, laundry, pantry area are also 5 different colors. I do not think that Commodore takes pride in their work, and it is horrible that they rip people off. We have a quote for the work that needs done by some local people, and the lowest bid so far is over $18,000 to correct the cabinets, that is putting low grade in, which is lower than we currently have. We would be taking a loss. To correct the cabinets with the same grade we were supposed to get from commodore, it will be over $24,000. The roof issues themselves no one had put a bid in on, because the entire roof will have to be deconstructed to correct the issue. COMMODORE HOMES OF ******* IS A JOKE and does not stand by their work. **** I also want to include that Premier Homes has been fantastic about getting these issues fixed to the best of their ability, but Commodore is the true issue here.
