I recently had Church Plumbing and Heating out to my home to diagnose a problem with the heat not working properly. They narrowed it down to the control board being faulty and quoted me on the price ($1024.20 installed) to replace it which I agreed to. I was charged $512.20 on 10/21/2021 and they told me they would charge the other half when they arrived with the replacement control board to install it. Church Plumbing and Heating came back on 10/27/21 to install said control board, but it only worked for a few hours according to my fianc. I come home from work and sure enough, it isn't working. I called back in the morning and they had someone stop out that day (10/28/2021) to checkout the board and now Church Plumbing and Heating is saying that the board wasn't the issue and that now I need to replace the furnace. They quoted me close to $7300 to replace the unit saying that the furnace's heat exchanger was blocked and couldn't be repaired.I felt like something wasn't right, so I called a 2nd HVAC company and they came out the very next day to check it out. I was with the technician from that HVAC company when he showed me pictures on his iPad of the heat exchanger (no blockages at all). The technician also noted that the control board that Church Plumbing and Heating put in wasn't installed correctly and he was able to rewire the control board and test the furnace for less than $200. It's a no brainer. $200 fix vs $7300 unnecessary purchase.I'd like to be credited back the $512 that I was charged on 10/27/2021 as I had to hire another company to come out and install the board correctly. I attached the technician's notes from the other company for validity.
