Recd a text from the INDIANA TOLL ROAD stating that I owe money for driving thru a tollroad. This is news to me as I havent used the tole road in over 2 yrs. My out dated responder is still on my vehicle but you would have to get inside my vehicle to read the numbers. and to date, I have had no break ins or vehicle tampering ever. THIS IS A SCAM. Also, this happened once before where they took money out of my checking acct. I notified ***************** discovered it was a scam and refunded my money. We also closed down my account so needless to say they are not targeting my bank account because it was changed. Rather this is possibly a random texting ***** that got access to the Indiana Toll Roads database & the rest is history. I am completely disgusted with the Indiana Toll Road not catching this as well. I need your help & will completely assist in every way I can. Thank you. Here is the link that was texted to me. *****************************

On March 6, 2023 I drove from Portage, Indiana to ********, ********. I stopped gave my ticket and paid my $3.90 at my exit booth where there was an attendant present. On my way home I stopped, there was no attendant present, I scanned my card and inserted $10.00 and waited for my change that never came. The screen then says I owe $50.00 more dollars for a total of $60.00 to go through the booth. I hit help over 5 times and nobody answered me or helped me. I had to get out and push the gate out of my way to get through. On top of that I'm still owed my $6.10 in change.

I have used the transponder for tolls for many years. No prior problems. In June 2022, we made a round trip from MI to PA. Credit card tolls were paid in full. In July 2022, this Company added a charge to our account for some $47.92 when we incurred no charges at all. When we contacted them, they stated that they were permitted to charge us for no actual use of their facilities based on previous use. How is it legitimate for any company to pre-charge prospective customers for services they have not incurred at the time? Certainly, a customer who uses a service must pay for that service. In this case, the customer did pay in full for prior used services for 6/22. For 7/22, there have been no charges at all but the company charges in advance for no services. This practice was never applied to our account in the past, and it appears to be very improper to bill and take money from any customer BEFORE that customer even incurs a charge for a service. I am asking that this Company stop this practice and delete this charge of no services from our account.
