1/29/22, Transaction date. 1) Microchip never registered. Confirmed by AKC. No microchip found by ************************** on 1/31/22, although the microchip number you provided appears on two documents plus chip you provided on 1/29. When I asked you about the AKCs statement and the **** clinic not being able to find a microchip you refuted that statement by stating that the pup is registered, but not enrolled. You further stated that **** clinics scanner must have been the problem with their not being to detect a microchip. 2) Pup we selected was very curly-haired, in fact, the only curly-haired of the three males we saw. The pup we picked up a week later was not, and he seemed quite a bit taller. 3) You provided a faint copy of pups health exam by the *********************. Need all pup's vet records from this clinic. Incomplete canine hlth record. 4) When I mentioned that the trainer we hired said that if our pups mother was a poodle, then the pup would (likely) be more rambunctious, you stated that the pups dad was the poodle. 5) At a later date, around 2/14, you said that both sire and dam were goldendoodles. 6) During an internet search, an F1B minigoldendoodles genetic make-up is 25% golden retriever and 75% poodle. Confirmed through the results of a DNA test (3/31) that pup is ***** % golden ret. and 10-25% poodle. 7) Need pictures of the litter from which our pup was born, **** all pictures of "****" (renamed Biscuit). 8) I have a saved phone message where **** stated ***** and ******* are the sire and dam. Have photos of ***** and *******. 9) Paw Print Companions is a participant in the *********** Programs through *****************. The fact that the pup had not one, but two parasites indicates negligent breeding practices. Why did your vet not detect parasites prior to his exam on 1/22? 10. I allowed **** to enter the new chip; however, she entered both chip numbers into AKC's database. See point 1.

We have been in contact with this customer and have tried numerous things to reason with them and resolve

      Customer response

      04/11/2022

I am rejecting this response because:  There are several points which are not addressed, any of them, in your brief response. Most serious, DNA findings that our puppy, purchased from Paw Print Companions, lacks the breed percentage (even considering a range) to be considered a F1B mini goldendoodle.  Or for that matter, any other goldendoodle on a generally-accepted formula table.  From the start, this transaction was fraught with puzzlement and deception.

      Customer response

      04/18/2022

I am rejecting this response because:  Response to Breeders Statement 4/12/22

      1. What you, ****,actually said prior to completing the transaction (1/29) was that you would transfer ownership of the microchip. In order for that to happen, the microchip would have had to be registered to you at the time of (our) purchase.

The fact that you had placed an *** tag, with a microchip number, on Biscuit the day the transaction was completed (1/29) could only be interpreted as you attesting to the pup being registered (enrolled). (I.e., an unregistered microchip serves no purpose.) It did not mean he wasn't actually registered yet but would be registered when our vet scanned for the chip you implanted. It did not mean that once our vet detected the chip, we were to call you so you could register the pup in the *** database. (Since you never told us to give you a call after the vet detected the microchip, how were you going to find out the chip had been successfully scanned?) When a pet has a tag with a microchip number on it, it is reasonable to assume the microchip is registered in a database so that if the animal is lost, the owner(s) can be contacted. In your response, you state that the puppy was not registered (at that time) because we were not able to scan the microchip you implanted. You are correct our vet could not find the microchip you implanted--even with using two scanners. Today I took Biscuit to five different clinics; none of those clinics could detect the microchip you implanted either.

Point 3 on the original complaint was not responded to on the canine health record, you left blank the registration date and confirmation number; Shortly after 1/31, I spoke with a customer service representative with *** who stated (to me) that if the chip was registered, you would have received an e-mail with the registration date and confirmation number. You need to attach the e-mail confirming the registration date and confirmation number.  Again,as in my response above, an unregistered microchip serves no purpose. Also, again, you did not include your vet information on the canine health record, or deworming dates instead of the week the ********* was given to the puppy.

      2. We saw 3 males, not 2 males and a female, for sale (See original complaint). I cannot say this emphatically enough, on 1/22, we saw 3 males offered for sale.

      3. See attachments included with original complaint. The examination report card you provided is so faint it is barely readable. You gave me the copy of the exam report to write information on the back of. You did not present it as further documentation, but as "scrap" paper (see back of same I am including with this response). Only later did I read it after realizing what it was. Per original complaint, need legible copy of all vet records.  See attachment.*

The following was not in the original complaint (also because of a limit on the number of characters, initially) even though I had included it in the document on my computer's desktop. Although the ********** of *********** form--APHIS form ****, item 5G, Description of Animal--asks for distinctive marks, hair, tail, tattoos, etc.,you don't list any and I'm wondering why since Biscuit has a few white hairs on his chest. (This form is also faint, but is readable enough to see that you did not list any distinctive marks, etc.) Since Paw Print Companions has been operating for a few years now,you would have encountered this question (on this form) many times. Need legible copy of ********** of *********** form as well.

      4. Not true. There was never a discussion about goldendoodle generations/formulas or how you breed, either on 1/22 or 1/29. If, according to your response, ***** and ******* are F1B goldendoodles, why did you breed this litter differently than you usually do in your breeding program?  (Again, refer to my original complaint, items 4 and 5, where you stated to me by phone that the dad/sire was a poodle; but stated around 2/14 that sire and dam are both goldendoodles.)  I conducted my own Internet research to gain insight into generations/formulas and stated so in my original complaint, item 6.

      5. Refer to point 4, above.

      6. Mixed breed puppies may vary on the percentage of either breed, but I don't believe it is genetically possible to wind up with a puppy with a considerably higher or lower percentage than its composite breeds.

      7. My original complaint asked for pictures of the litter **** (Biscuit) was born into. Also, pictures you posted on Paw Print's website of **** (Biscuit). You stated in your response, you have pictures. Please send pictures as requested in original complaint.

      8. No response at this time. Already established in original complaint.

      9. For confirmation, see attached vet information regarding parasites. The question remains, why did your vet not test for the presence of parasites prior to or on a final examination the week before finalization of sale? Even though the contract does not cover the cost of veterinarian fees associated with certain conditions (inc.parasites), it still seems that the breeder would responsibly, and as part of good breeder practice, integrate a ***** test as part of his or her final examination. And, this is only an opinion.

You respond that I did not make you aware of the parasites until weeks later (in actuality, I likely made you, ****, aware shortly after the vet's diagnosis); but for argument's sake if I did not make you aware of the parasites until weeks later, what problems did I make you aware of? (You stated in your response, "I was never made aware that he had any other problems."). As far as I can tell,I don't think it makes any difference when I made you aware of the parasites, the question remains why isn't a check for parasites included as part of a final health exam?

For the record, a ***** sample was taken around 2/3, 6 days after we picked up the puppy. He tested positive around 2/7. Therefore, the parasites had to have been present when we picked the puppy up. See attachment.*

      10. No response at this time.

The puppy is a lot of work; however, we have invested a lot of love, time, and money in Biscuit. This complaint was not initiated because of being overwhelmed by the puppy.
