Aamco Transmissions & Total Car Care Response

gone through with your vehicle. As we initially discussed the repair for your vehicle, we gave you 3
options. The 3 options were a remanufactured transmission (our best option also the highest price), a rebuilt transmission (also a good option) and a used transmission (the least reliable choice and least expensive). The used transmission only comes with a 30-day parts warranty. This option does not include towing or labor. You decided to go with the used option, and I explained this is the most cost-effective solution but also the highest risk. We finished the installation and the transmission checked out fine and shifted well. The first used transmission failed within the 30-day warranty. We did replace the unit free of charge and included the labor, but we did not cover the towing which had been explained to you was not included. Unfortunately, the used transmission that we received failed twice.
Finally, we gave you the option to apply the credit from the used transmission toward a rebuilt
transmission. This option includes a full warranty of 18 month or 18,000 miles on parts and labor. You chose to go with this option with an additional cost to you of $2400.00. This was discounted $1000.00 from the original cost of the used transmission that we applied to toward the repair.
On January 25, 2022, you authorized the final repair and the additional cost to you. We finished building the unit and after several attempts to reach you with no response from you. Finally, after several weeks on Friday, February 18, 2022, you called and said you had decided you did not want to do the repair andasked for a refund. At this time, we have invested the time and money into this repair which was approved by you. We look forward to hearing from you and hopefully we can resolve this situation.
