I hired RamTec in July of 2023 to repair the foundation of my house. One of the owner's contractors entered my property, busted a pipe, tore up one room of flooring and never returned. I am out of state from the property. One of the owners assured me often that work was progressing well and he personally was at my property. I was called by my realtor to let me know that contractors had not been on the property in weeks. A neighbor confirmed to let me know that they only entered the house once. RamTec took $4500 of my money and ran. I am currently part of a court case with multiple other victims of the tri-state area. One owner is in jail currently but the other is not and the business remains open as of May 2024.

After working with ***** ******* of RamTec Industries to obtain a quote for water damage repair of my laundry room, I made a deposit of $3,500.00 on August 23, 2023. I was then given a start-work date of October 9, 2023. As the start date approached, I attempted to contact ***** via phone and text messaging numerous times but did not receive a response. ***** finally returned my call on October 9, 2023 and said that there was a death in the family (grandfather) and someone else would send me a text message about my project start date. I never received a message and ***** has not returned my calls or text messages since. I have asked for a return on my deposit, but RamTec has not resolved the problem. I just learned about their principle employee's jail sentence on October 27, 2023. The QuickBooks Authorization ID is ************

Better Business Bureau 10/09/23 I am writing this letter to let anyone that is planning to do business with Ramtec, located in Evansville, IN, to think twice and do your homework. I wish we had check on the very negative reviews before doing so, but we discovered we had a slow water link that we didn’t know we had and discovered some damage to our laundry room floor. We had this company come out and do an inspection. They told us we had major damage and mold that would require our entire kitchen being torn out and the floor replaced in 2 rooms. We are elderly and could not get under the house ourselves. He said he required 3300.00 payment in advance and it would include repairs, a moisture barrier and pump being installed under the house. We made this payment in December 2022. He also said he would negotiate with our insurance company and that we should let him do so. We know now that he was intending to defraud them as well. They came one time and nothing was done. We called many times and he told us he would complete the work, but we never heard back. Knowing that contractors are sometime busy, we waited several months to give him time to do the work. We finally had someone come and get under the house and check out what we thought was major damage and they informed us no work had been done and most of what we had been told was false. Do not do business with this company. They are frauds and liars and think nothing about taking advantage of senior citizens. ***** ******

On August 24, 2022, I paid a deposit of $10,800 for a job that was estimated to total $24000. The job entailed building a deck, fixing a sinking concrete driveway, replacing an exterior door with a sliding door, several repairs to our fence, and a couple of outside vents. The fencing slats and 4*$ post repairs were done right away, but the sagging gates were not fixed as per the agreement. The deck was framed in early October, and we waited for the decking to be installed. We called and texted Rick at least once a week requesting an ETA on the completion. The vents were done as needed. In early December 2022, he finally came to look at the job and promised that it would be finished within the next few weeks. Within the next week, the decking had been laid, but they ran out of the materials needed to finish the step-down, and the railing hadn't been ordered.... Rick called and promised they would get back to the job as soon as the materials came in... The sliding door was installed and we haven't seen an issue with that. Although the wrong door was initially brought to the house and we had the back of the house opened up for most of the day (on the coldest day of the year). On April 8, 2023, Rick said that he needed additional payment. "His employee purchased the wrong material and he needed additional payment to be able to purchase the materials required to finish the job". I paid $5000 on the statement. On April 11, Rick contacted me to tell me that the driveway could not be repaired, but that a new driveway would have to be poured instead. This increased the cost of the repair by $7000. He said that he needed to prepay his contractor for the work and requested a pre-payment on the revised invoice (now totaling $32800). I paid him $12000 on April 11. On April 14, Rick sent his wife to my work to collect another $3000, claiming that he needed the funds to place an order for the deck railing. The deck is not finished & the driveway isn't done.

After my husband passed away suddenly a realtor from remax referred me to **** ****** of ramtec . He did some small drywall repairs and replaced my water heater and charged me $ 6500. They didn’t finish painting after the repairs because **** and the realtor suggested I have a lot more remodeling done. I gave **** another $8000 deposit and didn’t hear from them for 2 months. They finally did some more drywall repair and I gave him another $2000 to replace gutters. I didn’t hear from them for another month so I told **** that it was taking way too long and would like a refund and to end it. That was in October I’ve been getting the run around since. Very disappointed that someone would take advantage of me during my time of grief.

I purchased a new home in 2022. I found that I needed some work done to the crawlspace and was given the name "Ramtec" to contact by a friend. They came out and gave me a quote, totaling over $6k, was a slightly better price than others had given, and I love to support local businesses when I can. So I paid the deposit and they gave me a mid Oct completion date. Vaporbarrier replacement(I provided materials,) mold remediation, Sump pump and waterproofing install, running foam board insulation around the whole home, Sistering floor joists.. Communication was great through the etire process, I even referred SEVERAL other people to Ramtec in the months between the work being completed and finding issues with the work in my home. Work was "Completed" according to schedule, however, in Nov when I had an Electrician under my home for other work, we found that there is a WALL blocking off approx half of the crawlspace. Meaning that only HALF of the Insulation, and vapor barrier was installed. During my job is when the owner was "diagnosed with cancer." At least that is what I was told. I reached out to the "Foreman" that I had worked with during the work and expressed concern about the discrepancy in the space vs what I paid for. He told me he would come by to check it out... That was in Nov/Dec 2022, It is now almost Oct 2023 and I get no responses from anyone. I even offered to work something out for other work being completed rather than a refund. These Discrepancies are leading me to question the work that was completed, and I am considering getting someone out to evaluate it and see if legal action is needed.

On May 4th 2023 I payed RamTec Industries a $19,500 down payment for a pole barn to be built that would have totaled $32,000. The build was to start in 6-8 weeks of paying the down payment and complete by August 1st 2023. Needless to say, the build never started, attempts to communicate with one of the owners worsened and after calling multiple locations that supplies were supposed to be purchased at I realized they hadn’t been either because the store doesn’t carry the item needed for my build in store and it can’t be purchased in the smaller quantities needed, hadn’t sold that product at all or won’t do business with RamTec Industries. Through multiple attempts to get a refund I have realized it is not going to be an easy task as you are avoided, ignored or given excuses. Those who have feel victim know “it’s being handled” and those who haven’t or don’t please do your research and do not given them the opportunity. If you have found yourself victim file a report with your County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Indiana Attorney General, Federal Trade Commission and call the Governor, as a Leader and some of these falling in the Governor’s Cabinet he would likely have a vested interest in seeing that all cases are resolved and that no more Hoosiers fall victim to the lies, theft, deception and losses seen by the actions of RamTec Industries and its Owners.

We have spoken outside of this channel.  The services rendered were not agreeable to our standards and required us finding another contractor to finish the work in question.

My husband and I had a water leak at our home causing significant damage so we hired RamTec on November 7, 2022 for the reconstruction. Mr. ******* ensured us RamTec was more than capable and said they are licensed, bonded, and insured. RamTec began work on November 14, and it was quoted to take 2-3 weeks. The work included a bathroom remodel. We only have one bathroom and were therefore forced to live elsewhere while they completed the construction of our home. Their 2-3 week estimate has become a never-ending nightmare. Mistake after mistake caused us to not be able to move back into our house until January 20, 2023 and we still did not have a functional bathroom until February 10. Mr. ******* repeatedly made excuses for their poor workmanship and ensured us they would fix all of their wrongdoings. We gave him every chance to fix the issues until it became painfully apparent his team was incapable of doing the scope of work required. Because of our numerous issues with RamTec’s work over the ~3 months they worked on our house, we decided to get an inspection of their work which revealed: 1) Plumbing had an active leak and was not up to code. 2) Electric work not up to code and was a fire hazard. 3) Improper structural support mechanisms in our crawlspace and attic above the bathroom. 4) Debris from bathroom remodel dumped in crawlspace which would eventually attract termites if left. 5) other problems We obtained quotes to fix RamTec’s errors that were noted in the inspection report which have totaled $10,061.75 to date. This does not even include the damages they caused by taking 12+ weeks or damages to our countertops and stove tops they caused by using them as their workbench. The Vanderburgh County Building Commissioner informed me RamTec is not a licensed contracting company. RamTec Industries falsely advertised this information to my husband and I and led us to hire them them under false pretenses.
