July 9th 2024, I went to purchase my first vehicle at Auto Plaza LLC they told me this vehicle was 100% mechanically sound and it didn’t have any issues. The 2017 BMW 230I also had very low mileage compared to all the other bmws I’ve seen on the market. Which caught my attention. I contacted the dealership to see if they were negotiable on the price to which they said they were. I then called my credit union had them write up a check for $13,500 and I went to go get the vehicle when I arrived the vehicle wasn’t there and the owner ******** told me that his friend is driving it over here. I said ok and waited inside for around 20 mins. While I was waiting for the car they demanded the check so that they can start doing all necessary paperwork and they had me sign some papers without really allowing me the time to read through them. I then went outside when the bmw arrived and I noticed a ton of cosmetic damage that I didn’t notice in the pictures. So I said to the owner I didn’t see any of this online… and he said yes there are some cosmetic damages. Then I asked him is the car 100% mechanically sound and he said yes the car is 100% mechanically sound. We then went inside finished paperwork and I got the keys and left. I ran to Walmart to get a charger to charge my phone for my long drive back home to Kentucky and not even 10 minutes after I left Walmart the car overheated and broke down. I had to pay to get it towed to the dealership as they refused to pay the tow company. I then paid to take it to my own mechanic because they refused to fix the vehicle. I didn’t even have possession of the bmw for more than 45 minutes before it broke down and the motor locked up. I’m now stuck with a car note and an insurance note for a car I don’t have and cannot drive. I also have video evidence of the manager blaming this entire problem on the owner ********. The manager also showed me photos of the owner texting him saying he sold me a messed up car and the manager was in shock

I was the one that handled the sale on 2017 BMW 230I  VIN#*****************. I was contacted by the purchaser ********* * ****** in the morning of 7/9/2024. From his questions his main concern was to get the vehicle purchased for a low price. On his questions about the mechanical condition I answered that it was driven 300 miles to be delivered and that we are not aware of any mechanical issues. I also explained him that we highly recommend vehicles to be inspected by customer's mechanics or many schedule appointments with local shops that provide that kind of service. We also have flyer that states that as soon as you enter the building. ********* wasn't interested in his own inspection, he did not even want to test drive the car. I left with the impression that he is an enthusiast of this particular vehicle and he had plans for it. From his report sound like he was pressured to sign documents which is not true. We wanted to enter all the info in our software so there is no more delay when completing the transaction. He hasn't been pressured on any of the paperwork and I remember going over the documents which are not many since he is financing it trough a Credit Union. We had a bill of sale, indicating price and breaking down the total charge, Buyers guide - that indicated that the vehicle is purchased AS-IS and And Dealer Title Affidavit that he will receive a title within 31 days. Customer did pointed that he wasn't aware of some cosmetic imperfections, but all the pictures were showing the areas that had scratches and imperfections. He was left with the choice once he had seen the vehicle and as I mentioned he refused to test drive it. ********* called the shop about an hour after his purchase explaining me that the vehicle had broken not far from the car lot. I did send an employee with a trailer to help , but by the time my worker made it a towing company had already been called. The vehicle was taken back to the car lot and a new battery was installed. Customer asked for us to pay for towing bill and he also asked to cover hotel stay since weather wasn't nice - I refused both requests . Vehicle was taken to a shop close by the next day by customer's request. Over the incident we received 2 one star ratings on google which is understandable. I reached out to ********* couple days later trying to resolve the issue and to find out the exact problem. In this conversation he admitted he had made a mistake by buying a car without checking it out. After that he quickly started using inappropriate language, said that he will maker sure that he will close this business and that will make sure that Auto Plaza LLC looses more that what he purchased the vehicle for, he mentioned that he has18 min video and will be going to his lawyer. I explained him that if he feels that We have done anything unethical to do what he believes is best for him. I offered him that I am willing to get the vehicle back and pay him $12k but he wasn't excepting the offer.

On 7/29/24 ********* ****** called the shop and wanted to talk to me. By that time we had results from the Mechanical shop that there is a mixed coolant and oil which most likely mean that best way to be repaired is to replace engine. He told me that his lawyer had advised him that is in his best interest to negotiate with us. I told him that I would still get the vehicle for $12K since we have also expenses as sales tax collected and that I would be loosing few times more that the $1500 he would be shorted by taking the vehicle and paying for the repair to make it retail able. He asked if I am willing to do $12,500 I explained him that I am not. In the past week I have talked to several auto dealers explaining them the situation and everyone felt that that's a strong and fare offer. He agreed on it and said that he will come to pick up the check on 7/30/24 , I told him that the only condition from me is that I want both one star ratings on google search to be removed. The next day he came around 10:00 am and he started asking " where is my check? " I was in the middle of finishing a task and told him to wait. ******** refuted to sign paperwork that is requited every time customer backs up a deal, He also said that he will not remove the once star rating he and someone else had given which was part of the deal. He started using bad language and making all the employees feel uncomfortable , saying to the receptionist " I bet you don't have kids and you never will " He said that " he has freedom of speech - at least the country he is from", making the foreign workers feel bad. He also said that he will shut this place down and pointed at all employees individually saying " you won't have a job" and going over everyone. Than he asked why did I wasted his time and left. I was on the edge of calling Police to handle this kind of behavior. Shortly after he left the person who gave him a ride to Auto Plaza LLC left another one star rating on our google page.

I understand the frustration of the customer. We at Auto Plaza LLC are working hard to avoid this kind of incidents, We are a high volume used car dealership in the past several years we have sold close to 1000 cars a year  ( combined wholesale and retal ) and that's the first complaint in over 10 years. If customer was a little more cooperative we could have avoid elevating the issue.

      Thank you

My boyfriend and I bought a Honda Odyssey van in March 2020 from the Auto Plaza LLC on Morgan Street in Evansville, IN. We moved to another town, COVID started, and we lost our jobs. We put off getting the van plated and put into our names because we had no money or jobs to do so. Now we are trying to plate our vehicle only to find out we were given a bad title from the Auto Plaza LLC. We called and messaged the owner to get this situation fixed and explained why it took us so long to find out from the BMV the title was bad. He seemed like he would help but it's been months with no help. Now we are left with a van from the Auto Plaza LLC and we can't even use it. No one is returning our calls or helping us. The BMV will not take the title because it the wrong names on it and was never corrected before they sold it to us. We need help fixing this situation so our family can have another vehicle.
