My local agency and agent at masters insurance have always been friendly and caring, until I filed my first and only claim since having them for several years. Let's go back two months before my claim with Erie. May 20, 2021. This day has change me forever. My fiance and I were involved in a motorcycle accident.i suffered a broken fibula and ankle, a laceration above my left eye and severe road rash all down my left arm and hand. I was off work with short term disability until August. I used crutches, a ****** and also a wheelchair at times my short term memory was terrible after hitting my head in the road and my arm literally looked like raw burger and it was very painful.ibwas making slow progress to recovery. I added physical therapy to help me regain range of motion and to walk better.my arm is scared, but healed. My ankle and leg still swell and are painful but I'm managing. My memory is touch and go but improved. What's left is something nobody tells you and something I would never have expected. PTSD, severe depression, horrid anxiety and being determined "medically frail" by my insurance company. I was horrified. July 26,2021 I was woke by a knock at my apartment door. An officer told me my car was involved in an explosion!! I had left it in another town after tending to an elderly woman I help care for because it started chugging and I didn't feel safe. I parked it in a well lit grocery parking lot and called my fiance for a ride. He came and got me and we went home. I am still waiting for Erie insurance to settle my claim. They give me zero details and I feel they've been pretty rude to me. They say they can't make up their minds as to whether it would be covered or not. They say they are still investigating. They've asked for my medical records, they have questioned me several times by 4-5 separate people form their agency and a few with other agencies. They asked for my cell phone records also. I recently had to buy another car because when my car was totalled it left us with a motorcycle. We did use a rental for several days but we aren't married and he wasn't allowed to drive which made it difficult. I am still required to keep paying on the car that was totalled and my new car (2014 ****** Rogue) that's two car payments! So now after a couple mo the I'm wondering how I'm going to pay rent and buy groceries. They've made this a much more difficult ordeal. They are definitely not an insurance company that's on my side. They can't make up their minds and now I feel they are trying to blame me! I'm at a loss for words and hurt beyond belief. I would never and could never do something like that to myself or anyone else. I'm a grandmother of three and a ********** I always put others first and lend a hand when I can. So, please check into other insurance companies before ever deciding on Erie insurance. My agent, mine, ************, is great but the claims investigation team led by ***************************, is a horrible nightmare. They are rude, accusatory, heartless and just wanting to blame someone so they don't have to pay.this is shameful and embarrassing. I would never recommend them to anyone for any insurance needs. Thanks for letting me rant but I just don't want to see others drug throu the mud like this.
