Hired this company on 10/20/21 and the work was supposed to start right away. Now 9/01/22 they have managed to show up and work 1 day. I have called and tested this company on numerous occasions trying to get the work completed. It has been one excuse after another, they set a date then don't show up. I had to put $1,000 down and they have held the money the whole time.

********************* hired us to do three windows wrap some other windows with coil stock and cover up three windows this customer got very aggressive over a period of time we put the three windows in and he try to keep changing and adding things to the contract they were not in the contract I have been up there a few times he wanted extra things done that we could not do because it was not in our norm of work, we were scheduled to do it at least the rest of the job on a Thursday or Friday and we need to go back up to see what kind of work he had added to the job he told me if we werent there on Thursday he would do it himself I sent him an invoice and again he bullied his way to get a discount but he did say he would pay his bill that was owed we did not finish the job because it was not a healthy environment for my company, So I gladly let him up this contract even after he gave us bad reviews because he tried to change the contract.

I am rejecting this response because:

Not one time was anything changed, I have never worked with a company with so many excuses not to finish a job.  The only way this job was ever going to get completed was hire a more respected company or do it myself.  At no time did the company ever apologize for taking so long to start the job, just excuse after excuse.  The project estimate and explanation of work to be done is a joke, they left it purposefully vague so that they could get out of work that they were supposed to complete.  Any customer would get angry if they had to wait so long for a job to be started, then after showing up one day to only come up with more excuses to not complete a job.  Done wasting my time with them.

Once again we had ********************* scheduled to cover up the windows he canceled and said it was too cold it was 30. Which is plenty warm enough to do this project. I had been up there five times my metal guys to cover up the windows had been up there three times, change number two he said we had to brace the inside of the windows, Told him that is not our responsibility these guys are metal guys not framers, so we had to wait, Changed number three after he was on the schedule again he said we were to insulate in between the metal, I asked why would be to do that, Were just putting vertical metal over the windows and trim in the out, Change number four, wanted us to cover the steel and said we are not brick ***** thats not what we do for metal and roofing, So then he asked me to get the motor and get the metal bent from my people so I did that and went and got it for his brickmason, Hes back on the schedule for Thursday or Friday my guys were going to look at it Thursday to see what they did with that piece of metal to see if it would interfere, he said if we werent there on Thursday he would do it himself. He then calls me after we sent him an invoice and after he put in a complaint to the BBB and gave us two bad reviews said he was pay his bill and didnt want to complain but we were charging which is never The case which none of his changes or add-ons are in the contract its a very simple job so to just get rid of this simple job I took $300 extra off of his bill. Just like from day one he wanted something for free or not wanting to pay I have no reason to doubt my sales guys my window guys or my metal guys, we were just trying to get the job done and it was impossible

I am rejecting this response because:

Everything that they claim is a change that I made was talked about upfront and agreed upon.  It is completely ridiculous and unprofessional to draw up a $10,000 estimate in 3 sentences, and not include any details at all.  Obviously, they left room for being able to say I made changes when no one could have any idea what the job included by the 3 sentences.  I learned a valuable ****** not to trust the word of a contractor and have them spell out what the job entails.  Also make them put a completion by date so they cannot string out a job and hold my money and building hostage for almost a year. During the course of waiting,it caused even more confusion as they had forgotten what was originally talked about, including colors and scope of work.  At this point I am completing the rest of the work myself and have decided not to worry about the $1,000 deposit after talking with ****, since they did install 3 overpriced windows.  I have realized that there is no point in arguing over the details as there is nothing in writing to prove that either of us is right or wrong.  At the end of the day this all could have been avoided by them putting everything in writing and completing the job in a timely fashion.  Pushing a job out almost a year when originally stating that they would complete it before winter is a slap in the face and would make anyone angry.  I just need to put this behind me as I have lost a lot of sleep over this and need to get back to work as this is all very frustrating.
