I ***************************, homeowner, contracted Rain Drain, **** to install an ******* Leafguard gutter system on my home located at ***************************************************. On April 8th, a down payment of 1/2 the total; $ ****. was payed to account.Rain Drain, **** installed gutter system on May 12, 2022. I had trusted the installation was done by professional installers and was happy to pay the remaining balance of $****. I had also checked off a quality list the installer was supposed to have done, such as workmanship, clean up, etc.. Later that same day, I noticed a section of gutter that was ruined by drill holes on the back side of the gutter.I was stunned with that so I went around the job to find other major problems. I contacted Rain Drain to fix the problems. On May 16th, Rain Drain sent three repairmen to fix the problems. They did repair the ruined section, however, they were pulled off the job to go elsewhere without completing the remaining major problems. I was enraged because of this and promptly placed a (stop payment) on the $****, until repairs are completed. Apparently Rain Drain decided to turn the account over to collections rather than fulfil their obligation to fix their faulty gutter system. I tried to find resolve with business owner who, would not discuss any issue with me,I did pay the remaining amount of $****. to the collection agency upon their notice by mail.I believed contacting BBB should be first step to resolve before Small Claims Court.***************************Business response

Unfortunately **************** is not telling the full truth. Rain Drain did install the LeafGuard system on 5/12/22 and when the installers were finished **************** walked around with the installers and signed the completion form saying everything was completed correctly. At that same time **************** did give the installers a check for the balance of $1800. On 5/13/22 **************** called our office and spoke with our manager and said there was a gutter with a screw hole in it that needed to be changed but other than that and I quote Mr. ******* exact words "I looked everything over and other than that they did a darn good job". So on 5/16/22 Rain Drain sent service guys out to change that piece of gutter and at which time **************** had a list of other things that he wanted addressed. The installers advised him that they could not address those issues at that time and they would have the sales representative meet with him to go over those concerns. At that time **************** stormed off and came back with a garden hose and proceeded to tell one of our ******* ******** employees and I quote **************** "clean my roof and gutters off ***". Rain Drain does not allow ******* comments against anyone and that employee was deeply bothered by that comment, so our crew went ahead and left. That same day our sales representative went out and met with **************** to go over his additional concerns and told **************** that we would have our service manager contact him in a day or so to schedule a day to come out and address those concerns. On 5/18/22 we were notified from our bank that **************** had put a stop payment on his check. So according to the contract that **************** signed Rain Drain will do no repairs until balance is paid in full. So we turned it over to our collection agency and now it is between **************** and the agency. As of today 6/28/22 the collection agency has received no payment. If you would like copies of the contract, completion form, phone calls, pictures of before and after or any other information I can provide all that. We are still willing to address any of Mr. ******* concerns but not until full payment is recieved. Thank you.Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:
False accusations regarding:
1. I did not walk around jobsite upon completion of gutter system. I placed my trust in the installers word that items on checklist were taken care of when they were not. I signed on good faith that installers were competent and of top quality craftsmanship. I relied on this approach due to my poor eyesight.
2. Racist remarks: A. To quote me saying "clean my roof and gutters" is an absolute lie. The garden hose was provided to test the gutters.
B. The term "Boy" was another lie. I may have referred to or implied the phrase, to all the workers, not just to the African-American in question, " sent a boy to do a man's job" is a phrase used in the construction trade to describe someone who is inexperienced or incompetent. Proved to be a very accurate and true in this case.
