he took money and never showed to do work , he did not answered my calls, nor may email

************** contracted us to pour a concrete patio and an apron. ************** put a deposit of $1600.00 down for the material. ************** then canceled the project and requested a refund. I said ************** that we rarely give refunds on project cancelation by the client. I explained the reason being for our policy is when someone cancels, we now are stuck with an open week that another client could have filled. ************** explained to me that her situation was urgent as she is a Ukrainian national and needed to get home to help her family. I informed her I would reimburse her the money that had not been spent in the amount of $800.00 and would reimburse the rest once they reimbursed me for the 2 loads of stone that I had ordered. I met ************** at the bank and paid her $800.00. While waiting on my card to see refunded, things took a turn for the worse as ************** had a landscaper from **** named *** **** call and act like he was a lawyer. Mr. **** made threats and was verbally abusive. At this point, I explained Mr. **** to handle it with my attorney. The money I gave ************** out of the goodness of my heart is more than fair. I drove out to their home 5 times to meet with them, which cost me gas and time as they are an hour away.Customer response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this response/resolution is satisfactory to me.
JBH concrete company never showed up to performing job on May 15 as we agreed, then he told on May 20, but again did not showed up, after may ********************************** texts. Finally on May 31 he gave me half of deposit $800, then he told that next day he will give me rest of my deposit, but it never happens. . I ask my friend to call him to find out what is going on, since he did not return my calls or texts , and because my husband left country, and English is my second language. In additional, he did not brought to my house any materials that needed to performing this Concrete job. I requested my deposit back because his job was not performed at time as we agreed, he disrespected my calls. He lied to me that he will be "tomorrow doing forms" but he never showed up up. He did not drove to my house 5 time, only 2 time for estimate, and 1 time he wanted to pickup deposit check, he did not wanted to delivery check to his JBH business address.Regards,
