Business was contracted through the company I lease from. This company came out before Thanksgiving to repair my kitchen cabinets and drawers. The man that came out, advised he needed to order parts and repair some of the drawers. HE PROCEEDED TO TAKE MY DRAWERS TO HIS HOUSE!!! With COVID going around, this **** poor company made a decision to allow a tech to take items from my home into his own. WOW!!! I have been put off since and missed the opportunity to host for Thanksgiving and Christmas, while I had family in town due to this. Today, ***, he was supposed to come back out and even advised a 9am-1pm timeframe earlier today. At 12:15pm, he calls to say he has a family emergency and cannot come. Another holiday, with family in town and a party planned, I have to cancel or readjust.. The receptionist I guess from the company violated HIPAA laws and told me that the man's wife may have COVID and has to get a test. I guess this was her attempt to make me be empathetic in a situation where empathy was never given to myself. The unprofessionalism continues right? Now I have another holiday missed and items from my house now potentially exposed to COVID. My leasing company has been advised I want nothing to do with this company, this tech, or my drawers any longer. They are resolving this, however, it needs to be noted that A Affordable Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning ( yes that's the correct name.. Why my leasing company sent cleaning specialist to repair cabinetry is a surprise to me as well and being handled with them) is A Unprofessional Mess and should be avoided!!Business response

This complaint is not from our customer. Our customer is the owner of the property.
The kitchen drawers were brought back to the shop to be rebuilt as our tech keeps his cabinet woodworking tools there. This is standard practice and we do not anticipate the cabinet drawers to pass the ***** virus. If this is a true concern, we would be happy to disinfect them with spray upon install. Covid, however, has been proven to be mainly airborne and easily passed between people. This particular tech is also very careful about wearing a mask.
We did let the tenant know that the Tech was experiencing a family emergency and that he would not be able to make the scheduled appointment. The tenants were not accepting of this information and further demanded that we find another tech to "Go to his house and get my drawers and install them right now." This was at around noon on New Years Eve. We advised them that there was concern of ***** and that the technician would not be arriving as they demanded. I also advised them that he is our tech who does cabinetry, and that we didn't have another person available that day.
Myself and two of our office personnel as well as the technician have reached out to the tenant in order to make arrangements & schedule a technician to the house. I received a text from one of my schedulers that he was "screamed at and hung up on." I called shortly thereafter to attempt to smooth things over and reschedule them. During my conversation with them to try to reschedule them as soon as I found out about the covid exposure, the residents were extremely uncooperative. There was a person in the background yelling expletives at the phone, the woman I spoke with was unamenable to solutions, and they hung up on me before I could even offer to reschedule them.
We received this repair work order on 12/7/2021 from the property owner and our first visit to this property was on 12/15/2021. We understand that the tenant is upset, and we are trying to get them taken care of per the request of our customer, however the information in this complaint and about our company is not accurate.
As A Affordable, we do carpet and upholstery cleaning for retail customers, but we also hold a contractors license and do quite a bit of contracting work for some property managers and investors. We do not do contracting work for the general public.
