On April 28th I ordered 2 patio umbrellas from Brylane Home at a total cost of $178.16. I opened the boxes upon receipt to ensure they were the correct pattern, and then put them aside until I was ready to set up my patio for the season after traveling for much of the months of May and June. Upon going to put them up on July 4th for a family party, I discovered that both umbrellas were totally defective and useless in that neither were designed accurately to be able to attach the top part of the umbrella itself to the poles that fit into the tables/stands. I started communicating with Brylane Home on the issue immediately the morning after the holiday on July 5th. I was initially told to return the umbrellas and once the defective merchandise was returned I would be refunded the $178.16. I indicated I was willing to do that, and upon following the instructions given was not able to proceed accordingly through their system. From that point on for the last 2 weeks I have dealt with an endless loop of canned responses from them now telling me it was 60 days past the order (which I addressed and knew from the beginning, even if only a handful of days) so beyond their return policy. All detail is fully outlined in the attached email string and all is just completely unacceptable. I want the $178.16 refunded to my original form of payment immediately.
