On 04/30 a group of friends and I paid for *** tickets for Illusions the Drag Queen show in downtown ************. A *** table for 12 cost $675.00. When we arrived at the venue before 7 pm for the start of the show, nothing was set up. They guided us to an upstairs room, did not scan our tickets. There were no bartenders in the upstairs bar area, you had to go down to the 1st floor. No tables were set up, let alone a *** section. Shortly after 7 pm, some employees started dragging tables and chairs over to the area where the show was supposed to happen. There was no designated *** area, no service. In fact, my group did not even get to sit in the front of the room where the *** tables were supposed to be, but we sat in the back of the room. The website boasts burlesque style shows with dancing and music. This was far from it. It was scraped together and haphazard. The Queens provided an excuse that they moved the "show area" to that floor last minute and did not inform them, but also that the elevator wasn't functioning. I am not sure what that had to do with how the show lacked any of the promises boasted through the website. It came across like it was a scam.Not only did we spend $675 on tickets, we also had to have tips for the Queens and were paying for drinks. Random people walked into the room for free! They did not pay like us. There were 3 queens present who literally just walked around lip synching. I've been to drag shows before at smaller venues and they were far better than this. After the how, I emailed my complaint to the email address on the website. A gentleman named **** called me. He told me he would refund me $200 *** (which he did), and then give me the tickets back so we could go at any time. Problem is that the venue we were at shut down and they still haven't found another venue for the show. At this point and due to the experience, my friends do not want to go to another show by the company.
