False advertising on website. Job was not completed in 1 day. The workers left the fence unfinished and I had to call and complain to get them to come out and fix the issues. The installation man told me two days prior that he had no one by my name for installation, even though we paid a 2000 deposit already and had spoken with someone to set up everything. Was asked for a horizontal fence quote and was ignored and given a privacy fence without being able to pick out design features. **** spoke very broken English and could not communicate well. When asked to do things they said yes but then did not comply with owners wishes. Not professional at all for as much money as we spent.

This is in regard to a gate installed incorrectly.I contacted Amerifence in August 2023 for bid on a new fence.8-17-23: ************************ arrived at my home and gave me an estimate. This was a referral from a family member whom did extensive research in interviewing companies. We agreed at a price of $6,000 and I wrote a check for $1800.00. 9-5-2023: Fence was installed and a final check of $4200.00 written.Starting October 3, 2023 through March 23, 2024. I was in and out of my home traveling as I have for the past few years. Mostly out. When I returned home and the mail person started using the front gate 6 days a week, I noticed the problem. I had 3 gates installed, 1 to my driveway, 1 to my east side sidewalk to the back of the house and 1 at the sidewalk, which is main entrance to my home. The first 2 were installed correctly. The Main gate to my property was installed incorrectly, it opens out and the handle is on the inside, so dogs and children can get out. I have dogs and children visit me. Plus it didnt close tightly and could be left to swing back & forth. I contacted Amerifence May 20, 2024 for a service call.5-30-2024: Amerifence made a service call. He tightened the hinge so it wouldnt sag for the time being and called the office for advice.Within 20 minutes the hinge was tight and I had received 2 phone calls from Amerifence. First call from ***** 2nd call *****. Both calls were nearly duplicated. I was given 2 options. #1 put a pad lock on my front maingate to my home. I legally cant because the **** needs to deliver my mail. #2 cut the gate off so it clears the step and install correctly and be happy with the gap under my fence. Each phone call was less than 2 minutes. The 2nd call ended with a Take It Or Leave It.My family member explained, #2 could work. I have tried to call the office, no answer, I hope they didnt block my #. I am a senior citizen, widow living alone.

********************** installed ************ fence on September 5, 2023. 8 months after the fence was installed, ************ contacted the ****************** requesting a gate adjustment. ********************** promptly sent a ****************** Rep. to inspect the gate.

************ insisted that the main gate was installed incorrectly because the gate opens out. The ****************** Rep. explained to ************ that the gate must open out due to a concrete step preventing the gate from opening towards the inside of the property. Moreover, while on the project site, the ****************** Rep. offered to tighten the hinge (which he did) and cut/remove the bottom portion of the gate so it cleared the step. ************ was not willing to accept this as a solution, but rather demanded that the entire frontline of the fence be reinstalled so that the fence was behind the front step.  We were willing to do this, however, we informed ************ that she would have to pay for the additional material needed to perform the work. She did not want to pay.

For the first time in **********************s 20+ years of doing business, the ****************** Rep. called the General Manager requesting permission to leave the job site because he was being harassed by the homeowner. In an effort to resolve the situation and clear up any misunderstanding, the General Manager called ************ to discuss possible solutions. ************ then persisted to swear and threaten the General Manager over the phone. Moreover, before abruptly hanging up the phone, ************ stated that she was going to sue ********************** and that all future communication needed to be through her attorney.

We are glad that a family member was finally able to get through to ************ that option #2 could work. Had she been reasonable and listened to us the first time, the matter would have been resolved.  Due to ************ bullying and harassment of ********************** employees, we do not feel comfortable doing any more work for her.  We wish her the best of luck.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I am not satisfied with Amerifences answer, but I do not want further communication with this company.

I was stunned at Amerifences response.  I am a senior citizen, widow that lives alone trying to enhance by property and provide a place for my dog.  I have a signed contract with a warranty that is worthless.  I will pay another fence company to make the repairs.  So I am asking AmerifenceUSA for nothing.  After this experience I do feel other consumers need to be warned.  I am not trying to harass and/or bully Amerifence in any way, I only met 2 of their employees in person.  The two other employees were phone calls.  I will be notifying The Indiana ***************** ********** of ******** Affairs, just so other women and senior citizens know how this company treats fellow Hoosiers.  I appreciate   the BBBs help in this matter.

Once again I no not require an answer from Amerifence.  You may close this file.

      Regards,

      ***********************

I paid $10,681 for Amerifence to install 294' of 6' cedar privacy fence. They also installed a 10' double gate. The gate was not installed correctly and does not line up and presents a tripping hazard for my 2-year-old daughter. Not to mention, does not provide a barrier that a fence's sole purpose is. The installation happened on May 27th. On May 30th, I called the repair office and requested a service call on my gate. I was given a date of June 12th. No one showed up for that appointment. I thought that I might have the date wrong, so I called on the 13th to verify the date. I left a voicemail that was not returned. I called again the next day to no response. I then reached out to the salesmen, and I then get another repair date of June 19th. A tech shows up. Says that my gate is in too bad of shape to repair and it would need to be rebuilt. He promised to be back the following day and never showed up. I then called for several days without a response. Finally Friday the 24th, the "lead tech" comes out and again confirms that I need a new gate and a new post. He promises to return on the 26th or 27th at the latest to replace the gate. He never showed up. I was then told that someone would be here first thing on 6/28. Again, no one has shown up to fix my gate despite being promised several times that someone would show up.

Made a call to the company regarding replacing gates under warranty and additional request for new fencing be installed. One return call resulted in a "transfer to different department" after I requested my gates under warranty be replaced and also requested a new section of fencing for only about *****ft be installed. I was told by the individual on the phone her department did not handle this type of request however she would transfer my request to a different department and they would contact me within the week. No further contact has been able to be made and no return calls. Company has been contacted via online requests (2 requests) and called (no answer on calls, have left a voice message) regarding the warranty claim.

Hello!I agreed to installation of a fence and paid my deposit on 01.22.22. They installed the fence, but it wasnt to the specs we agreed upon in the contract. I emailed them 02.15.22 and called them to let them know. I didnt receive a response to my email or my voicemail. per the contract, final payment is due at time of work being completed. So I went on living my life, waiting to hear back. They finally reach out on 07.20.22 to collect payment and had no idea about the additional service items needing corrected. I let them know I was on a work trip and I could arrange a payment plan when I return the following week and Ill reach out when Im back. They wait 72-hours and start harassing me. Multiple calls a day. ********************* (the owner) threatened to repo the fence if I dont respond by end of day. ******************* (billing) told me they wouldnt complete the work without payment, going directly against their contract. ***** threatened me with their attorneys and when I asked for them to contact me he never did. He made countless threats that when I asked how we could arrange, he never responded. ***** also attempted to run my card from the deposit for the full balance due after I gave her a date in the future I could make payments. Im very upset they attempted unauthorized transactions. I reached out to them via email letting them know theyve made me feel uncomfortable and I want all communication in writing. They ignored this and all questions I had about completing the project. They sent someone out to review the fence and scheduled work to be completed at an unauthorized time when I wasnt home. Work was still incorrect. We went back and forth and finally got it corrected. Now I am on a payment plan for $500/month. I made it very clear that I was to provide payment info monthly as theyve already made an unauthorized charge. They ran my last card for $500 this month and I need this refunded asap. Please help me get my money back from these scammers.

We have been in contact with ************************* since this complaint. The charge has been credited to his old card and he gave us a different credit card to run.  He has 2 more months of payments before his fence is paid off. We will be in contact with him each month to get payment because he wants to use a different card each month.  In 23 years of business he has been by far our most difficult customer to deal with, it will be a relief when he finally pays his balance

I have been ignored since they installed after numerous attempts to contact them. I have been emailing and calling them since April 9th about a poorly installed gate with a latch that does not work. They have sent me to email every time I call and have not once responded. I have had to start a long and lengthy process of disputing a charge older than 6 months at this point and if that does not work will have to take them to small claims. As you can see from the pictures the gate was installed in such a way that it doesnt close flush, the latch was cut so short that a light breeze opens the gate. I have 2 rescue dogs who are not trainable and need to be in a secure enclosure, this gate is useless. They also simply stuck a very cheap metal cylinder in the ground that immediately bent in the wind and is now stuck to the rod that is supposed to hold 1 side closed.
