I have had multiple Health Plan carriers over the years ********************** MHS is by far the best. Their customer service is top notch, coverage very good, portal is intuitive, timeliness of paying claims, and value for the $$ the beat I have experienced.I feel fortunate to have found Ambetter!Review from B. AmBetter is the absolute worst insurance company that we've ever had! My wife was diagnosed with a ruptured disc in her back that is pressing on her nerves, has left her completely disabled, and requires emergency surgery. Now we have top wait ***** days for a 3rd party to authorize her surgery while she's in complete agony?! This is what we're paying nearly $700 a month for on a gold plan?! This is what happens when the government is involved in make health decisions for us!Review from DL S

If I could give negative stars I would. Horrible customer service. It seems like they need prior authorization for every, single claim including prescriptions!! It is a full time job just getting them to approve coverage for claims. I highly recommend getting coverage elsewhere if at all possible. This company is awful!!Ambetter from MHS Response

They open 2 policies for my family and will not provide proof that they have cancelled one policy and will reimburse for it as well. A month of calling, faxing proof, & emailing proof. The customer service has been horrendous. Every time I have been on the phone with them from one to three hours. Market Place supervisor even stayed on the line because they kept redirecting me to Market Place. They owe a reimbursement of almost $3,000 because they took two payments out. Then they took two payments for our actual policy. I have given them both policy numbers and they still try to cancel our actual policy. I feel as though ******* customer service is probably better at this point. I have proof for them, give them both policies and still cannot get it resolved. They said I wont even get an email for 7-14 business days. They also said if not taken care of in 60 days they wont reimburse.Review from Lynda H

I have had so many issues in the past couple of months in regards to my insurance being canceled, even after my premium has been paid in full. This has happened twice(2x) and every time its "Oh, we'll escalate this issue." I have missed multiple appointments due to Ambetter canceling my insurance. They also have not let me know when they do cancel my insurance, and I don't find out until I'm at these appointments. I pay for my insurance for a reason, and expect to be able to use it whenever I need to, but I cant, because Ambetter CANCELS my insurance for no reason. I have recently switched insurance because ambetter wasnt very reliable. Their website would list provider options and then when I called those providers they said they didnt take ambetter and had been trying to get off their list for a long time. Also, one of my preferred providers they were with recently ended their contract with ambetter.I wasnt going to leave a bad review, as I was just going to switch providers. However, I cashed out my rewards account from ********************** and got a $100 prepaid **** gift card. They sent it to me and it doesnt work. When I reached out they said its because I switched providers. This is despite the fact I was a member when I requested the gift card and when I received it. This was the last straw of ambetter showing how unreliable they are. I wont be back, I wouldnt recommend them, and I will not actively warn people against them going forward.Ambetter from MHS Response

They will not stop harassing me, calling me over and over and over all day long and I have told them to take me off their call list and now they are calling from different numbers and when I decline the call they call 4 more times back to back, they will not stop calling me I'm about to have to be forced in to changing my number because they willlllll notttttttt stopppppp calling..... Ambetter from MHS received your grievance on 02/09/2024 concerning ****************, BBB Complaint Case # *****. Due to federal and state privacy and confidentiality regulations, we are unable to disclose any protected health information, including eligibility, claims, and billing information, with anyone other than our members or their authorized representatives.An Ambetter representative has attempted to contact **************, to discuss his concerns. I have called them multiple times to cancel/disenroll me because I didn't apply for this insurance and I have been calling since the beginning of 4/2023 and it's now 2/2024 and I am still fighting with them to cancel this and has yet to be taken care of out of multiple times calling about this issue. There is a Broker that keeps logging into my account and activating it and deactivating it without my consent or permission to do this in my name. They are rude and they don't care about the things that they do nor how it affects my health when I some major medical issues/sicknesses and how it affects me not being able to get my medications that I have to take on a daily bases with no options to not take it. I guess I have to give 1 star when they don't deserve any stars at all.Review from Dawn S

They denied my routine fiscal three previous times with bogus reasons.The first time they denied it, everything was correct on the claim as per and better. But they said that the provider waited too long to file a claim so they denied.About two months later I had a pre-determination on file for a procedure I went and had said procedure completed and they denied that claim.When you call customer service they put you on extended whole times, say they will call you back and follow up, enter generally talk in circles.They never really provide you any customer service or answer as to why you were paying them so much per month and they are not paying your claims.
