Purchased a home in 2021. With my 1 year warranty inspection/filing, I have issues with sloped flooring which an engineer (hired by Fischer) said needed to be fixed. I asked for a 1 year warranty on the work (had they built the house properly to begin with the work would have come with a 1 year warranty), Fischer refused. I was told I would have to file arbitration. I recently decided to sell and want the work completed;I informed Fischer Im no longer seeking the 1 year warranty on the work to be completed and just want the work done. Fischer informed me I would have to file with arbitration. Fischer is refusing to complete the 1 year warranty work that is in our contractural agreement and recommended by an engineer they hired to assess my home. I have asked repeatedly for the work to be completed with no response. I had to get the city involved to even get Fischer to respond to my issues initially, resulting in the assessment by the engineer. Fischer is refusing to complete the work seemingly so they will save money as they know the cost of the process of arbitration is higher for me than paying for the repairs myself. Fischer is notoriously difficult to work with, delivering sub standard products and failing to correct known issues.Review from Nicole D

We will never buy a Fischer home again as long as we live. We bought a Fischer home in ************* 2021. We moved in and immediately starting having issues- the **** system kept breaking down in the middle of winter. Our pipes have leaked causing damage to the dry wall and rings on the ceiling- ALL of our upstairs windows have visible water intrusion marks on the corners running down the walls, (we have moisture reading equipment that has been recorded and documented by professionals) the house is completely falling apart and weve been here under two years. We have to contact individual subs hundreds of times to try to get anything done as Fischer homes themselves is zero help before and after the 1 year warranty. Oh, Our garage door fell off track completely ontop of my van while sitting in the garage as well. What a joke. Now, less than 2 years in, only half of our outlets in the kitchen are working and zero outlets on the island work. We were told we would have access to a pool and park when signing only to receive a letter AFTER moving in that this was untrue. The street lights and signs are constantly broken with little help from HOA, and the general integrity and quality of the actual build of our home is absolutely lacking from everything from rough stage to electrical and plumbing to finishes and support. DO NOT BUILD WITH FISCHER HOMES! For 400k I expected a house that wasnt completely falling apart less than two years in. Also, just take a drive around our neighborhood you can see the windows and sidings were not installed correctly and are leaking as water lines on the exterior are clearly visually noticeable even after a week of dry weather on every single house which should not happen!! BEWARE OF BUYING A FISCHER HOME.Review from Tony W

I had my home built in 2019, as soon as they got their check at closing they were essentially done. I attempted to get warranty items repaired and they kept putting me off u til the warranty expired. Their customer service is horrible, the superintendent was terrible, as well as the assistant super. I am still paying for repairs on items that should have been done right to begin with, I will never recommend them to anyone!!Review from Sarah P

DO NOT BUILD WITH FISCHER. It has been constant problems since signing in September 2021 in ****************. We were told our house would be done June/July and now 8 months later we still dont even have footings. I am 7 months pregnant and we have no home now for our future baby. We are now told if we are lucky our house will be done in October. On top of this weve had to pay over $6,000 to lower our APR points and $3,000 to lock in our rate EARLY in our OWN money because we couldnt lock in our APR RATE because of excuses and inappropriate delays. WE WANT THIS MONEY REIMBURSED. Communication has been awful and we literally have no idea whats going on ever. I have never been so disappointed in a company. I will be going to the news.Review from Amy T

Time will tell how this matter is handled, but buyer beware if you are building a home especially with Fischer Homes. Please pay an inspector to consistently drop in and check the quality of the work being performed during each step of the build. I am the second owner of a 6 year old home and within the first few weeks after purchase there were indications of serious problems hidden by caulk and paint. Within about 15 months after moving into the home it was noted that the floors were moving. The kitchen slopes into one corner, the dining room to one side, and my husbands office feels like a bowl. I have at minimal 5 professionally confirmed MAJOR structural issues causing sloping/slanting floors and cracking drywall. Two defects are the lack of structural point load extending to the bottom of structure. I hired a structural engineer who states 2 supporting walls are greater than 60% overloaded with weight and states the problem is a potential safety issue. Proper building practices were not used on this build and the prescribed locations and quantity of nails were not followed. My basement ceilings are now all removed and multiple walls opened. My floor joists are not secured and are falling. The amount of work needed on my home is extensive and estimated to be 6 months or greater in time with every floor needing removed as well as multiple areas needing structural support. Please note that the 10 year structure warranty is transferrable to any buyer within the 10 year period. There are a lot of hoops to jump through and thus far it has been 4 months since I contacted the builder the first time. The craftsmanship on my home is alarming, unacceptable, and disgusting.Fischer Homes Response

Fischer Homes has been working with this homeowner to make the necessary repairs on the home. Fischer has been onsite multiple times and maintained communication. Fischers Customer Relations team initially requested a professional report from the homeowner since she is the second homeowner of a six-year-old home. Fischer had not been in the home since the one-year warranty performed for its original customer. This accounts for the four months that passed from initial contact. There are framing items that need to be addressed on this home. Fischer has recently received a prescribed repair from a third-party structural engineering firm. The structural engineer hired by the **************************** assessed the home and found that the structural issues did not meet the Designated Structural Element coverage. Fischer has communicated that they are willing undertake the repairs prescribed by its engineer.Fischer Homes has been building quality homes since **** and has an excellent would recommend survey rating. Fischer has thousands of satisfied homeowners and stands behind its product. It is unfortunate that there needs to be a repair on this home, but Fischer is more than capable of completing the repair if given the opportunity by the homeowner.Fischer Homes disagrees with the description of the framing issues and the lack of workmanship as described by the homeowner. Fischer understands the homeowners concerns but also knows the home and is confident that it can make the necessary repairs.Thank you,
