Account name: *************************** Acct Number ********* ***************** Name: ***************************, **** Reference Number ******** 5 August2021 child went to the ** for dehydration and repertory issues. Doctor admitted to the hospital to receive fluids, breathing treatment, and various tests to find the underlying issue. The fluids needed to be continues due to not drinking on his own. Which was a secondary condition caused by breathing issues. Days later he was diagnosed with Croup. The doctor stated he was admitted and to receive the on-going treatments and tests. However, they billed this as an observation stay instead of admitted to the hospital for these treatments and various tests. Meaning they told us one thing and then charged for another. The hospital needs to re-**** this for what they originally stated. A corrected **** would come out to me owing around $2702.73. Not the $5580.75 currently billed. I have a file including the line by line billing from the insurance company showing the treatments and tests on all the days of the hospital visit. His second to last day there six separate services/tests where provided. Six medical services/tests does not meet the definition of "observing". Health insurance only pays for observation visits up to 48 hours. Common practice is after 48 hours hospitals release or fully admit the patient. That is something every hospital should know. I spoke to my health insurance company and they stated they will pay the **** if/when the hospital bills it correctly. I spoke with the hospital and they told me the account would be placed on hold while they look into this. However, they are sticking to their billing for a different service that what they told us at the hospital, because I have received a letter from a collection agency.I dispute these charges as fraudulent charges by a deceitful hospital. If/when they **** correctly, I will pay the **** in full.
