I have a 403B with this company that I have been trying to cash out since September. I have completed all paperwork. I have called every 10 days to find out why it has not been sent to my bank. Every employee has offered an apology and an excuse, but I still do not have my money.Business response

I filed a short term disability claim after being diagnosed with 2 mental illnesses, which have been exacerbated by my interactions with and financial problems caused by a breach of contract and bad faith denial by American United Life Insurance Company/One America. My claim was filed on 11/01/22 and approved on 12/20/22 after many issues with receiving medical records from my psychiatric nurse practitioner (NP) and I received back pay up until 11/29/23..The company had already been provided with clinical notes from a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) but was delaying approval until they received medical records from the *** One America was aware of these issues. Due to the stressors of my ongoing disability and financial stressors, I feel deeper into depression, one of my mental health diagnoses and I rescheduled my appointment with my LCSW. On 2/22/23, I received an e-mail with a letter stating that my claim had been closed and I was not eligible for benefits past 11/29/23. They referred to a clinical consultant, a registered nurse, to assess my functional ability. In *******, Registered Nurses are not listed as mental health providers and law specifically qualifies who can make a diagnosis and treat a mental illness. Registered Nurses are neither qualified nor authorized to determine the effectiveness of a mental treatment. The clinical consultant for this claim, a Registered Nurse, has no licensing to contradict the treatment plan of a licensed clinical social worker and a nurse practitioner nor do employees of One America's short term disability claim department.Business response

Had purchased a life insurance policy over 20 years ago from American United Life. Monthly payment of $25 was deducted from checking account. We received a letter dated 10-17-22 stating that the cash value was insufficient to cover cost of insurance. We could either send a check for a minimum payment and authorization to increase monthly draft or if the above was not received by 12-21-22, coverage would lapse. My wife called the company on 10-24-22 for more info. We decided to cancel policy, sent a letter to American United Life Insurance Comp ******************************************************** dated 11-17-22. Saw that $25 deduction was pending for December payment on 12-14-22. My wife called ************ to follow up. Spoke with ******; he would pull the payment. Noted that 11-17-22 letter not on file. My wife sent the letter via e-mail to ***************************** My wife called again on 12-20-22, again spoke with ******, was told that case had been escalated up the line. Refund should be processed. My wife called again on 1-3-23, spoke with Supervisor *****; wouldn't give any info over the phone without ****'s authorization. My wife told her that if this $25 payment wasn't refunded to checking today, we would press charges and pursue legal course. Afraid that a January withdrawal will be made.Business response
