I had a one-day trailer rental and returned the trailer after hours. When the final receipt issued one week after the rental period, I noticed a $15 cleaning fee. The trailer was returned spotless, and I took several photos of the trailer using the **haul app for after hours returns. I called the location and was told that they would not reverse the charges as they had photographs of the dirty trailer. I was also told I would have to come to the location in person and they would show me the photographs that justified the charge. Long story short, they directly lied about having photographs of a dirty trailer, and immediately reversed the $15 charge. My concern was never about the $15 charge, but was instead focused on uncovering what I suspected was a scam cleaning charge added to the final invoice of renters who return trucks/trailers after hours. They are likely banking on the fact that not many people would take the time to drive back to the rental location to dispute the charges and view the alleged "photographic evidence" of a dirty truck/trailer in person. Appears to be an easy way for this location to add additional revenue based on bogus charges that most good-natured people would accept rather than waste time driving back to the location to dispute in person. This practice is not only unscrupulous, but borderline criminal.
