On August 13, 2021 I visited Indiana Eyecare Center located at ******************************************************************************************************* for both annual eye exam with ********************************************************* and new eyeglasses as prescription has slightly changed. Optometrist, ***, has helped me choose a new frame and lens. He explained what is recommended and how much insurance covers it and how much my out of pocket expenses may be. The lens I chose was High Index lens. After EyeMed vision insurance benefit was applied, I was informed that I owed them $409.60. I made a full payment of $409.60 by credit card. On September 23, 2021 I received a voicemail from somebody named *** at Indiana Eyecare Center. According to her voicemail, we just noticed the insurance sent back a form for us that when lab made your glasses, they had to go to a higher priced progressive lens just to get your high index lens and all the prism thats in there and the insurance wont pay for it so we have two choices you can. If youd like what you are wearing we can go with and keep it and it is like $95.20 more. Or, we can have them remake it in a lower progressive lens. Youre still see good. It just takes away some of the outside edging on those. I called back to *** at Indiana EyeCare. I conveyed my frustration and stated that it did not make sense to me at all that the lab did not put in lens as ordered and put in higher price lens with customer, or patients consent. I told her that I wanted full refund instead of having it re-made. We agreed I'd stop by to drop off my eyeglasses. When I stopped by, *** talked me into having it re-made and in order to avoid further argument, I agreed. I was never contacted re: glasses. When I called back in 4 weeks, *** said she canceled my order but would order it again. Since then I have never heard back from her. Now I have not received refund nor my glasses back. I want them to refund my money ASAP because I cannot trust the quality of glasses they "re-made".
