> Used SUV bought 11/13/23 > Asked if it was checked out & all okay BEFORE buying it - I was told YES > 12/19/23 - Took to Chevrolet Dealer to check it out & many things wrong with it but the major one was a manifold oil leak that they estimated would cost around $600 to repair. Upon my own investigating on that type of car issue, it is an unsafe car to drive as it can cause a fire, or if it started in weather colder than 25 could completely blow out the back seal! > there are other major repairs needed totally g to about $2800! I called the dealer I bought it from and informed them of all the issues same day. I have called several times since then and was told they would call me back but no one did until I told them that I was about to drive the car back to them park it on their lot and give them my key! However after that, I have to keep calling them still.I did get a warranty that would cover some of the repairs. I have been told twice to call back to arrange and make an appointment to bring the car back to have it looked at and, they still havent set up an appointment with me.My biggest complaint is I was sold a car that was NOT mechanically checked out and is not safe to drive! That should be against the law!I want other potential buyers getting a car from this dealer to be very careful and aware before they buy anything and have the used car checked out before purchasing.
Since my original complaint I have been informed of new information about the vehicle sold to me by Right Place Auto. New info: The car sold to me is listed as "salvage" which was not disclosed to me before purchasing it (found out from a Car Fax Sheet a dealer printed off for me. Selling a salvage car without informing the consumer is illegal in *******. I was told it was bought from a police impound auction and it had to be retitled--total lie. I am in the process of seeking legal help before I approach the dealer and person who sold the car to me that is NOT safe to drive. I also know from a trusted mechanic that the manifold oil leak was NOT new and had been existing before I purchased the car.
I was also informed by another car dealer that the repairs the car needs is more than the car is worth and in their words, "You were robbed." I do not want this auto dealer to take advantage of any other consumer. The person who sold me the car I had conisdered a friend and trusted him...obviously I should not have done so.I do want to pursue some type of resolution because the dealer illegally sold me a car that was rebuilt and I was not informed of this in writing, which is required by law via the ******* Car Dealers Commission.

I did not see dealers response until today, February 25, 2024 where dealer replied that I signed the paper that showed it was a rebuilt car. Heres the additional information: NEVER saw the piece of paper I signed! Just the corner of the page was flipped up and told to sign here at time of purchase. Then that particular piece of paper was NOT in my packet of papers the dealer gave to me!
It took more than 8 phone calls or text messages to finally talk to the owner and make an appointment to have my car brought back in for them to fix it. As of February 26, 2024 they will have had my car for 30 days and have not completed repairs yet. On February 21, 2024, Owner finally called me & told me he was waiting for parts to come in and if they came in that day or the next day, I would have my car back on February 24.did not happen.
I will say the owner stated he will do some repairs at no charge even though they are not under warranty. He is making an effort to rectify this issue.
This will not be resolved until I get my car back and I take it to another mechanic to ensure that the repairs made were done properly!
