I hired ************************* to renovate my 100 year-old windows in early 2020. He picked up the windows in Feb 2020 and said it will be a five week job. I paid him 50% of the amount owed as required by his contract ($3156.77) on March 12 2020. Since then he experienced delays due to Covid-19, which I understand. However, he stopped all communication with me via phone or email last August (last phone call). His voicemail is full, he won't answer email or phone and I have been without windows for over two years now. I want my windows back. I want a full refund of the money I paid him. I am providing screenshots of contract, invoice, and the emails I sent in the past few months. I have called tens of times as well. He never responded.

Admittedly there is no excuse for our lack of response and communication.  There has been many obstacles since we removed windows and I take full responsibility.  In hindsight, I should have realized the distance (though not that far) was probably not a good decision on my part.  The customer has been more than patient and gracious, the problems has been strictly internal.  The best solution I can offer is to have the windows completed, returned and installed by July 15, 2022.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The reasons why the response won't resolve the issue is that after two years of waiting, I don't trust that ************** will keep his promise. I had to get new windows after waiting for two years for the windows and over five weeks for his to reply to the BBB complaint. At this point, I have lost thousands of dollars in energy bills and in investing in new windows to protect my home.

I want my money back in full ($3156). I will accept a check made out to me (****** ****) and mailed to my address. I won't even ask for refunds of the energy bills that I paid in the last two years and four months. I just want my money back in full and a** soon as possible.
      Regards,

      ****** ****

Souli has every right to be unhappy, I take full responsibility for the failure to complete project.  Her request for the return of her initial deposit is appropriate, unfortunately we can not make payment in a lump sum.  Payments in $600.00 per month until complete is what we can offer with certainty.  The payments will in all likelihood come faster.  In addition, I ask for a signed release from any and all legal and financial responsibility in reference to this project once payments are complete.

      My apologies to ************

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I have emailed ************** on Aug 9th asking about a schedule for the payments (screenshot of email attached) but I never received a response. I have called his business multiple times since then and no one answered the phone.

I reject the offer because ************** never followed up on his plan and he continues to follow the same pattern that lead me to file the complaint in the first place:  pattern of poor communication and lack of response and commitment. I want a schedule for when I receive each monthly payment and I would like to keep this complaint open until the payments are completed.

      Regards,

      Soula* ****
