Listed business sold me a defective item and is unwilling to resolve the issue with a refund or exchange. Date of transaction 11.26.2023 in the amount of $86.00 for a certified used Apple Pen in which the establishment had for sale. This was a Christmas present and was recently discovered that the purchased Apple Pen was defective as it is not able to be charged and it is inoperable. 12.28.023 attempted to exchange the item at the place of purchase and ******* informed me that nothing can be done without a receipt, not even an even exchange.Business response

At Cash Indiana **** our corporate return policy allows for a full refund within 7 days with the original receipt in cases of defective
items. Additionally, during the Christmas season, we extended the return window to 7 days from Christmas Day for items purchased as Christmas gifts. The
original sale receipt is crucial for locating the exact sale transaction in our database.
Upon reviewing our surveillance video with audio on the day of *************************************** return, ******* adhered to our policies. He explained the
challenge of locating the sale without the necessary original receipt but did not explicitly refuse the return. Instead, he conveyed the
difficulty in finding the sale based on the information provided verbally by ************************************
Pawnshops, as mandated by law, diligently track make, model, and serial numbers for all acquired items. Unfortunately, without the receipt or
the serial number showing up in our database, locating a specific sale becomes extremely challenging. Following *************************************** return request, we searched and
identified two different sales for Apple Pencils around the date provided by ***********************************. One sale was on 11/25/23 (Sale# ******) for a ************* Pencil in the amount of $64 and was sold to ******************************. The other sale was on 11/24/23 (Sale# ******) for a ************* Pencil at $28.04 and also had ******************************
as the purchasing customer. Our records show no other Apple Pencils sold or in the amount of $86.
We are willing to process a return or exchange for a defective item as long as it aligns with our sales return policy. I have attached the Corporate Return Policy Sign posted in the store and also the Two Sales Receipts as evidence in this case.
