I filed a claim with Home Warranty of America regarding my furnace not properly heating on 1/31/23. They scheduled the ********* technician to come to my home on 2/2/23. When **** called me to discuss the furnace issue, he stated he was having HWA deny my claim for maintenance issues and I needed a new furnace. I explained to him that didn't make sense because I have a good warranty program. He said again they will deny it for maintenance and only approve for mechanical issues. He told me again I needed a whole new system and that my unit was operating in Emg heat, which he said shouldn't happen. He also said that running it that way has caused wires to start melting and the furnace could "blow up". I got very upset and told him I would figure it out but had someone at the door. He then went inside my home and told my daughter DIFFERENT reasons why it wasn't operating (that her running a humidifier caused crystals to collect on the filter and system and that was causing the issue). He told my daughter to call him back by 3PM and he could get in a new system that day. He gave my daughter an estimate, which included additional items and systems never discussed with me in an amount of $18,000!!! I called another company for a second opinion, which the new company confirmed it would not "blow up" and that the system didn't have to be replaced today. They got the heat working properly. There was just some dirt/dust collected around the coils, which the new company cleaned for me for free and said there was no concern of a fire or "blowing up". ********* was just trying to scam me into buying a new system with them and not have my warranty coverage work as it should, in addition I paid the $100 service call for this nonsense and he did not give us a receipt. I will attach a picture of our bank statement. Their core values of honesty and integrity are false and their website doesn't have the ability to file a complaint with their business.
