Briefly. the care I receive From Logansport Hosptial and Physicians has always been good - we are fortunate to have them in our community. However, I believe that Logansport Memorial Hospital has an unfair billing practice for cash pay patients and I would like to get this resolved. I have tried to address these concerns with the billing department for the last few years. I have also reached out to their general email,My issue since my wife and I are cash patients, we do not get treated unless we pay up front when going in for doctor's visits - typically routine physical exams. So I ask up front for the charges, then I pay and receive a receipt. I ask and the person collecting my money tells me I am paid in full. Then, inevitably, I get billed again for additional monies. This has happened every time for the last several (few) years I do not believe this is right and I want to discuss it with someone please. I frequently ask up front, when the appointment is made, what the charge will be, I am told a price, I pay it then I'm billed for more money at a later time. I have at times refused to pay and once my "extra" bill was turned over to a collection department. Not that it matters but I have a credit score of 800+ so paying bills is not an issue to me, My complaint is that if I ask for a price for a service and/or pay the bill up front - then the price should be "solid/fixed". They are misrepresenting their service to keep doing what has been their practice.Business response
