I am making a complaint concerning chemicals that are seeking to the apartment every other night. Someone is using chemicals in the their toilet every other other night . The fumes comes to the third-floor apartment and it sits here in our area for hours and sometimes days this is a nuisance to my health .when people turn on their exhaust all the smell from their apartment, come to this apartment because its not properly going outside so when I turn on my ventilation, such as the exhaust system over the stove or the exhaust system in the bathroom, everything pools from back into my apartment nothing is going outside. This is detrimental to everyone else health. Therefore every other night Im having a coughing fit and I know this bothers other tenants but I cant help it if they are smoking cigarettes all day and all night and the smoke is coming into my apartment.Business response

Dear Consumer,
Thank You for bringing your concerns to my attention. I do apologize that you have had this experience.
There is a vacant unit in your building that we are in the process of getting ready for a new tenant to move into. As part of our make ready process we do use regular household all purpose cleaning chemicals such as Pine-sol to thoroughly clean the apartment. Our make ready process of a vacant unit is done during regular business hours Monday through Friday. Unfortunately, we do not have non-smoking buildings. Tenants and/or their guests are allowed to smoke cigarettes inside of their apartment.Smoking of any kind is not allowed in the common areas of the buildings and if outside, must be 25 feet away from the building. I would be happy to have Maintenance come by to check your exhaust vents to ensure they are functioning properly.
We want everyone to enjoy coming home to our community and do take these complaints seriously. We do not want anyone feeling uncomfortable in their home. I look forward to speaking with you directly to get this matter resolved as quickly as possible.*************************

I dont know what Pine-Sol has to do with my complaint, but my complaint is not having air to breathe during the time that they are pouring chemicals into the toilets and into the drain if they can read, they will see that on the bottle it plainly states that when using these chemicals use in a well ventilated area having fresh air and that is especially when maintenance are using caustic chemicals that can cause breathing problems

I like to add if having marijuana parties and smoking on weekends with marijuana is not illegal then what is???
I thought ******* had a law against marijuana smoking. This is not ********.Business response

Thank You for responding,in my previous response, Pine-Sol was used as an example of the regular household all purpose cleaning products used when we are in the process of preparing a unit for a new move in. All cleaning is done during normal business hours Monday through Friday. All units are ventilated appropriately. The unit in your building that was previously being prepared for a new resident has been completed. As I stated in my previous response, I would be happy to have Maintenance come by to check your exhaust vents to ensure they are functioning properly.
Marijuana is currently not legal in the **************** and is not permitted on Property. However, the smoking of cigarettes is allowed inside the unit or 25 feet away from the building. If you have noticed Marijuana is being used in your building please contact the Office during normal business hours so this can be discussed further.*************************

This complaint is towards Whitcomb Terrace apartments, marquet property management group. I must say this is the WORST Ive been treated all for the almost 4 years I have lived here. I have been working with the property manager ***** Z , who has been extremely unconcerned, non sympathetic and lazy to work with. I have been emailing, calling, sending updates and even following up, doing all of the things you would think the property manager would do right ? She only responds when I have blown up her emails or phone. Really not urgent. I have been dealing with water leaks , mold, warped cabinets, old water smells, drooping cabinets, a broken dishwasher even after it was replaced. This issue was informed to management on 9.20.2021. Now 3 months later I have to go on a hiatus to get any resolution. I have contacted the ****************** of health, contacted The property manager . Provided all information needed. All that gets done is she sends the ****** worked ONE. Maintenance Manager. To do her dirty work. Its the same response and no assistance . I have lost food, dishes and a microwave. I have requested more compensation as more of my dishes smell and have a water film around them and no one will respond. Once again the cabinets reek of old water and Im sure there is mold and mildew in the cabinets. I pay my full monthly rent every month, just to get half of an apartment. The floors were only partly fixed I have attached pictures, we are walking on electrical poles and deep cracks in the floor which are also cracking the tenants apartment underneath us . They only fixed the hallway. When I sent this info to the office and manager nothing was said afterwards as if they fixed the issue. I put in a work order again on 11/16/2022 regarding my dishwasher and no response. I called 11/18/2021 to the office only to speak to the rudest front desk agent ********, any time I tried to speak she would cut me off and try to say super rude comments. I've moved to Whitcomb Terrace Apartment toward the end of March of 2021 because of a previous landlord issues at my previous apartment location (Park West Apartments; Griffith, Indiana). Just as Park West, I'm having issues getting my apartment complex to come and fix my kitchen sink so that I can utilize it. I have put in mutiple request via web portal as well as verbal request to have it fixed. It was expressed by Whitcomb's maintenace around April of 2021 that it was the lining of the pipes that's causing backup of a nasty mixture of particles, soap, and water. He stated that this was a issue that they so call fixed everyones elses but maybe missed a few apartment which is one of the ones that they had leased out to me. I can't cook nor clean any of my dishes due to this issue. I countinue to stress that this has became very costly for me to continue to purchase most of my meals out everyday as well as in inconvience. I would really appreciate your help.
