Builder finished garage without putting in beams and pilons causing the garage to sink down 7-9 inches. They came out and commission a company to drill holes and pump it up. Since the concrete is so new, there is no warranty on the project from the sub-contractor. The garage is sinking again and the whole garage is cracking. I ask that Fireside Homes take responsibility and fix the issue by installing pilons and beam in garage to solved the issue. Here is a more details of the project and issues with this company:Your house is the biggest investment of your life, you need to pick the right builder or General Contractor.I like to tell you our experiences with Fireside Homes. We contracted with them in January of 2020, little that we know, it was going thru a transition from the previous owner to a new gentleman by the name of *********************. He seems to be a nice person and was working for Fireside.Well, then Covid-19 hits and understandably things got delayed. When things get going, here are issues I had to deal with:First Problem:* I asked: do you soil sample study?Answer: no we dont, we know what we are doing and solid sample doesnt do anything.* I asked: do you put in Helical Piers?Answer: yes, we give you an allowance of $10-15K and that is sufficient.Final result: over $60k in Helical Piers that we had to pay extra. The lack of experience, due diligence is costing me more money at the start.Second Problem: I wanted garage to be at same level as entry way to the house. The house was raised and they forgot to adjust the blueprint, now the entryway is a foot higher. That is not attention to details and management of the project is certainly lacking.Their solution: built a 12 ft ramp in the garage rendering 1/3 of the garage useless..This is a joke.Third Provlem:They had to redo the outdoor ceiling 4 times:* First time, the wrong material was out up, had to be torn down.* Second time, it was too tight, ceiling warped.* Third time, wrong color.* Fourth time, it was good after some adjustments to gutter system. It took 6 months. If you dont mind looking at halfway done ceiling, it should alright. It must cost them quite a bit of money, but is it the customers fault? The lack of project management, attention to details and lack of experience is showing.Fourth Problem:The gutters downspouts had to be adjusted multiple times to avoid water from over spilling. The new owner said to me that the gutter company doesnt want to work at our house because we are too picky? Really, gutter spilling over is my issue? It was finally fixed WOW!Fifth Problem: Constant change of sub-contractors causing delay and the new one is not familiar with the job and needed to be guided and explained what is needed.Their story: sub-contractor is not good, we used a new one. Humm?Sub-Contractors: ( unconfirmed ) they dont pay bill, we dont want to work for them.I am not surea bit suspicious!Sixth Problem.Lots of promises to get things done, not only that they dont follow up, things didnt get done. The saddest part of this whole thing is that they put together a good product. They built a very nice home with good quality. Their business philosophy is: if we eventually get to you , then that is good enough. It might take a year: Geez! The lack of business experience of the new owner is causing stress for their customers, it is costing him lots of money and the solutions are easily resolved if he has pride in his product. He made lots of promised, but never fulfill is commitments. It just Words not Deeds!I can go on but will stop now. Here are some business 101 lessons:1) Inspect what you expect: All your employees came from the same pool, but if you dont look at their work and there is no process in place, you are fooling yourself.2) You need to address unhappy customer asap before they stew on it, fester and it became a big issue: Hello! In conclusion, if you dont mind:Lack of experience Lack of attention to details Lack of care for the customers Lack of communication skill Then they are your builder! Good luck.
