I paid ******** on June 2, 2023 as prepayment for surgery at St. Joseph Hospital in ************* (part of Trinity Health System out of *******, **) on June 7, 2023. I ended up only owing a copay of $500. They refunded me only $340 and change. I contacted them and showed them in their own portal where they documented the total amount correctly, and where in their portal they documented (erroneously) that I only paid $840 and change. I also provided proof of the withdrawal from my bank account. I have contacted my insurer, United Healthcare, who continue to tell me that the hospital system owes me the refund and there's nothing they can do since they didn't ever receive that sum from the hospital as it was not owed in the first place. No one from Trinity Health has responded to me since July 31. I have written messages in the portal and included attachments so that everything is in writing and they have neither responded nor refunded my money. I have been attempting to resolve this for over a month. They owe me roughly $1,000 still.

Back surgery @ St. Joseph Medical Center on 4/11/23.Insurance has paid and settled, leaving me with a credit balance on my account of ********* have been working with the billing **** which is called Trinity Health since May to get my money. It has now been 3 months. They agree they DO OWE me money, but have told me a myriad of excuses and reasons why i have not gotten the refund. The money due me is because i paid for tests the week before my surgery out of my own pocket, which was my co-insurance. i paid from my checking account as well as my credit card.I've tried contacting someone at the hospital in *********, to no avail. All the way up to ***************, who's voice mail has been FULL since May. Bad business! I've tried patient advocate ***************************. no call back.two gals at Trinity i have called are ************************* at ************ and **************** (sp?) at ************. They act dumb when i ask for a supervisor.I am going nowhere on this, and just want MY money.I just don't know what to do.The last excuse was that their cash app program called Catalyst was at fault of not cutting the check, and that they escalated to I.T., but of couerse IT doesn't take calls.THIS HOSPITAL IS USING MY MONEY AND I DON'T LIKE IT!
