My son purchased a used Volkswagon. He was told the vehicle was inspected and that *************** has a warranty that is "Over and Above manufacturer's warranty". Two months later he got stuck on the highway when the car wouldn't shift. It was towed to the dealer. He was told that they would need to remove the transmission to determine the cause of the failure, indicating that it was a transmission failure. This would cost $800, but would be covered under warranty if not user abuse. Of course they take it apart and determine that it was the clutch. That repair would be an extra $4000. The choice was to pay $4800 to *************** or $800 to ***************, $200 for tow and $3000 at a transmission shop. They also stated that the car was out of alignment causing it to need new tires, the water pump was leaking and there was a problem with the brakes. The latter two issues were covered by warranty. My son drove less than **** miles, was the car inspected? The dealer offered a $500 credit towards new tires. This would barely cover 2 tires. He would still have to pay for the alignment.

We bought a used ***** in Aug. 2, and the next day we started having trouble with it ! We called, and the salesman suggested getting better gas. Then the problems started getting worse, so we kept calling. Finally, the concierge told us to take it to *************** ******** to have it checked out. We did that and found out there are several issues a timing belt, ignition coil, valve adjustment, spark plugs and hood struts !! Their estimation was about $2500.00 !!!! I called ***, the concierge and told him and asked if they were going to pay for this. He said they would not! My problem is, this diagnostic testing should have been done before it was ever offered for sale !!! It had these problems when we bought it, and we dont know if they knew or not, but we bought it in good faith, trusting they were being honest with us !We told them this car was for our daughter, who is a widow, with no income, and her car was totaled in a storm from a tree falling on it on our property. The only money we had was what her insurance company gave her for her car. plus what we got from our company for damage to our fence. We stressed how important it was to have something dependable, as she picks up her grandson from school every day !!! I feel they should be responsible for the testing and the repair costs !! My husband and I are old and in fixed income and cant afford this !!!!

They sold my sister a car that in less of a week the engine light came on and started riding rough. When she reached out they stated she signed an as is but she could take it to a dealership and see what was wrong with it. Turns out it needs a timing belt, valve adjustment, spark plugs, and ignition coil THE charged her 230 for the labor and diagnostic check and told her they didnt have time to check the car BEFORE they sold it to her. She had to pay the 230 diagnostic fee and now **** to get the car fixed that she hasnt had for more than 3 weeks.
