Refuses to give us our money back going on 7 months now.Could not commit to a reasonable start date and time after weeks of back and forth (including him canceling the night before he said hed start work). After he still didnt give us a start date following this, we pressed him to commit to a start date deadline of December 13 because we wanted our project done before we hosted Christmas. He offered to come the day of said deadline to start demolition at 4pm. We asked if he could come the following morning instead because we had no idea how long this would take, and his response was that hed have to check his schedule. The fact that he didnt know what his schedule was like two days out made us doubt that he actually would come back to continue the work had we agreed to let him start. He tried to talk us out of canceling, but agreed to pay us back in full. Somewhere along the line, that changed and he began accusing us of reneging on a contract, despite no legally binding contract being signed.Since then, hes given us multiple excuses as to why we havent gotten our money, and now hes ignoring all of our correspondence:- the materials were already purchased and he needed to return them so he could give us our money back - an accounting firm manages his money since hes an LLC, and theyd cut us a check that would take 5-7 business days for us to receive - his wife was dying - his wife died (she is still alive)- he would pay us back X amount by X date this date changed several times, along with the amount he would pay us - he wasnt going to take food off his familys table to pay us back - he didnt care if we took him to small claims court, and if we did that we would have to wait awhile to get our money back. He admitted to us that his wages are already being garnished because he owes back taxes. Since agreeing in late December/early January to pay us back, AND agreeing to a payment schedule, weve only received $300 of the $1400 he owes us.Business response

Manpower and all materials and supplies had been procured.
Start date and dead line agreed upon with a provision that if unable to meet said schedule, a refund would be issued.
2 days prior to start date I received a call stating they had changed their minds.
A violation of the signed legal contract. Mr and ************** surreptitiously altered screenshot of the contract. I still have the live hyperlink to the online service we use for estimates and contract. I've provided the link below These cannot be altered after signing.
They proved themselves to be quite dishonest and malicious. I am more than ready to meet in them in court. Especially with their public slander, liable and dishonest untruths and altered screenshots.
