I called to purchase contacts for myself and my partner on 6/9/22. Our prescriptions both expire 7/23/22. I know I have up until the day that script expires to order however many contacts I want. The business refused my request and told me because our script expires in over a month we cant buy any. I know this is wrong. They tried to get us to schedule whole new exams. I then turned to ***** Contacts. They verified my partners script and fulfilled the order. But the request they sent to the doctor was followed up with DO NOT FILL. RX EXPIRES 7/23/22. I have documentation of this. As for my contacts, they completely denied it and ***** Contacts could not verify. I am now taking their online exam in order to get contacts. I am furious. I know by law that they cannot withhold my RX and that they have no authority to dictate what I can and cannot get as long as that prescription is still valid. I know the law, I have worked for an optometrist, and even the person I spoke with at ***** contacts told me what they are doing is completely wrong. I have never encountered a business doing something like this until now. I know I can even go into the office and request a copy of my script, but I know they will try to deny me of that. How many other people have they done this to and got away with it? This is wrong. Obviously I will never return to this doctor and will tell anyone I know about this experience. Like I said, Im furious and even dumbfounded that I am experiencing this.
