I made an appointment for a routine dental cleaning. When I arrived, myself and 2 other patients waited outside as the doors remained locked, nobody answered the door, and nobody answered the phone after our appointment times. Approx 15 min later staff arrived, apologetic saying that part of the staff didn't come to work and now the hygienists were trying to work the front desk. My routine dental cleaning was done by the dentist, instead of a hygienist. I assumed and still do assume it was because they were short staffed and the hygenist was working the front desk. They billed as if I required a special cleaning, under the gums, which requires a dentist to perform. I was not informed of any problems requiring treatment beyond my routine care. Additionally, they found my first cavity since childhood and kept cancelling the appointment to *** it. I had to go to a different dentist, who found no evidence of "pocketing" which is found when a cleaning goes below the gumline. Then, I get a bill for the treatment that didn't happen, that was supposedly given but without my consent, then fraudulently billed my insurance for it and me the balance. The phone at the office wasn't answered and for at least a couple of months the recording wasn't operational. The new dentist requested my records and they weren't sent, possibly because they didn't want evidence of their fraud. I want the billing changed to the routine clean which was performed and the ****** reviews to be wiped clean. The high rating is not from the current owner or dentist. I think the previous dentist had good ratings and now it is a company which hasn't had the same dentist twice, since I started care there. No money has been paid. If billed properly, as routine cleaning, no money is owed. This is fraudulent billing and I was refused an itemized statement, which I could have contested. The new dentist didn't receive any records either. Care *** have been on March 22, 2023. 9am appointment time?Initial Complaint

I went to Midtown for a routine exam on 9/28/21. I was not informed at any time that my in network provider had retired and after cleaning a new dentist finished my exam. They sent a **** shortly after. My spouse called questioning the ****. Midtown stated was an error and assured dentist is in network so my husband kept his appt. We are now finding out that this dentist is not in network and wanting to charge us out of pocket expense. I have requested that any balance insurance does pay to be adjusted since they continue to deceive us and probably others about in network status.
