Original brake job done May 4, 2022 total charge $607.09 for rear brakes Returned on August 29, 2023 to have brakes inspected due to a squeaking noise was told that the rear brake pads needed to be replaced. Originally was told the charge would be $400 when we questioned this due to having a lifetime guarantee on the brakes they said they could do it for $97.78, so we had the service performed. We still had the squeaking noise from the brakes so we took our car to another mechanic to have it. Inspected was told that the rear pads were not put on correctly I needed to have new rear brakes installed.Total charge for second rear brake service $572.81 Which is what we are looking to get refunded from Midas.

Our Products all have a 90 day parts and labor warranty. We completed an inspection and recommended pads and rotors. Customer declined and only wanted pads. We gave several discounts and did what the customer requested despite it not being what we recommended. We are happy to hear she git all the brakes done as recommended. She did end up paying the other shop more money for the work performed ** than we had estimated to do the same job weeks before.

I am rejecting this response because: According to our new mechanic, replacing brake pads without also replacing rotors is not acceptable. Also we were not told that the rotors were not going to be replaced by Midas on 8/29/2023. The original brake job should have lasted longer than 1 year/ 11,000 miles.

On 2/22/2022 I had $2,000 worth of brake work done on my Lexus IS350 at ********** Midas. They were unprofessional the whole time, never communicated anything to me and were rude when I came back in to let them know it had an issue. I had to call in numerous times just to find out what was going on with my car. Once I finally was able to pick it up my brakes were making a TERRIBLE squealing noise. I figured maybe they needed to be broken in but no change over the next few days so I took it back to Midas to rectify the problem since there's supposedly a warranty. I was told they only heard a "minor squeal and that in order for them to dig in further there actually has to be something wrong. Mind you I have video of it screeching as loud as possible and they didnt care to see it. Took it to my brother who works for ***** ******(****** owns Lexus) and him and their master tech said I was charged about $400 too much for the work that was done and that the pads and rotors were the cheapest you can get and that the brake components were not greased properly. I took this information to Midas and was told Id hear back from someone but this was over a month ago and my car has been sitting since because the noise is embarrassing and painful to your ears with windows down. I was forced to buy a new vehicle because it made more sense than paying another $2,000 for brakes when I just had all of them replaced. I have tried everything on my end and I would like my money back at this point so I can take my car somewhere that actually cares about their customers and will get the proper work my Lexus deserves.

We are sorry to hear that you are not pleased with our service. We do stand behind our warranty and will work to resolve any issues under warranty when you are available to bring your car in.

      Customer response

      04/25/2022

I am rejecting this response because:

I have already brought my car in and was told there was nothing wrong with anything that would be covered under warranty. I dont want my time wasted any further at this point.

Our previous response still stands and we stand behind our warranty.
