I was given false information about the boat motor I purchased. I paid for a 2006 ************* in working condition. Business removed the serial number/vin number - plate was removed unbeknownst to us. The motor is actually a 1999. He does not work and have several issues. Business refuses to take our calls/answer emails or texts.Initial Complaint

I purchased a 150 hp ************** from *********************************** at Bs Outboard Barn. He said that he has been servicing this motor for years during the time the previous owner owned it. He said it ran great and it was in great condition. I paid him $6000 and he installed it on my boat. I put my boat in the water and it wouldnt run correctly. It turned on, but as soon as I accelerated, it would die. I took it to a ****** to have them check it out. They told me one of the cylinders had no compression. They also told me that the Evinrude 150 was not a good motor and it was not worth fixing. They have had trouble with them since they were built. I have tried reaching out to random multiple times, and he has never answered my call. I have left multiple messages and have never received a call back.Initial Complaint

I contacted this person on ******** marketplace because he had a boat motor I was interested in. He presented another motor he had to be more compatible to my boat. We agreed on a price. He then sent me a video of the motor running. Showing that it was properly pumping the water out of the motor as it should. My wife and I drove 3 1/2 hours to trade my motor for his. When we got there the motor was laying on a pallet. I asked to see it run he said he was pressed for time and that he sent me a video of it running. Whatever motor in the video he sent ran perfect in all ways. So we traded motors and I had to give him $1250.00 in cash as well. The next day I took it to the ****** I am paying to mount it on the boat. They contacted me later in the day and said it was mounted but was not running good and was not pumping the water out. I drove there and they showed me the copper line inside the motor that runs from the bottom of the motor up to the the hole it shoots out of was not there and there were bolts inside the lower unit of the motor were missing. Also told me the motor would not idle and needs the carburators need rebuilt. I also looked at the motor and realized that it has a black prop and in the video he sent me was silver. He told me the motor was a ****, and I was shown that it is ****. I tried reaching the seller through the market place where we conversated, texted him, and called him. He already had me blocked on ********, would not reply to quite a few texts and multiple phone calls. The ****** still doesn't have the motor running yet due to trying to acquire the water tube which is no longer available. I was lied to, I believe I got sent a video of a different motor than what I purchased, and the seller will not respond to any communication to try and get it resolved. The guy told me he sells over ********** a year. I feel I'm not the first, and surely will not be the last. Picked the motor up June 23, 2022.
