On September 14th, 2023, I contacted Crain Ford to get a quote to replace my intake manifold gasket on my truck. I spoke with *************************, who is the service manager. He quoted me $800-$900 to replace the gasket. I said that sounds good, and he informed me to drop it off on the 25th of September. At this time the only problem with my truck was a coolant leak. It had a misfire in cylinder #2 due to the coolant leak, but I just wanted the gasket replaced. I dropped the truck off at Crain Ford on the 25th around 4 P.M. I did not receive any calls or updates on my vehicle for over a week, so I called and spoke with ********************. I asked him if my truck was ready and he stated, "I meant to call you. I have a truck that is ready, and I have a truck that runs mostly smooth." He said they went ahead and replaced the whole intake manifold, a couple of coils he thought were bad, vacuum lines that were cracked, and spark plugs they said needed replaced, and that I owe them $1402. I had just replaced the spark plugs and coils two years ago, they were not bad. After work I went to pay the bill and ask why no one called for an approval for repairs? He said, " I thought we were under the impression that if it needs fixed, we fix it." I said no, I just wanted the intake manifold gasket replaced. I gave him $1000, and I said I would pay the rest next Friday. On the 6th I went to pick up my truck. I only live 7 miles from the dealership, and barely made it home. It was running lean, had a bad misfire, and vacuum leaks. I popped the hood and noticed they put things back together improperly. I called to inform the *** He sent a tech out to pick up my truck to make the repairs necessary, returned my truck, cleared the engine codes, and left. my truck is undrivable now, and they sent me a bill for $400 after they damage my truck. the ** informed me that things break down all of the time. So, they knew it wasn't fixed when they dropped it off.
