We had Ben come to extend our roofline over the deck and redo the deck. We wanted it screened in. This project was started July 2022 and still is not finished. I have reached out multiple times with no success. He has stopped responding to me. One side of my stairs doesn’t even have railing on it. * **** * **** **** ***** *** ***** It’s a safety hazard not to mention all their extra wood, ladder and miscellaneous stuff that sits in my backyard. With the warmer temperatures, my kids are outside more and I would really hate for someone to get hurt. I just would like my deck done. And done correctly. Some of the things that are completed, I don’t believe are right.Business response

I have communicated with Ashley regarding this situation. The phone she texted me on was a staff office phone and don't always get those messages nor have that phone in my possession most of the time. I gave her my personal cell phone for further communications. She never called me and we didn't have any emails or missed calls to our office nor did I call her because I have been only communicating with her husband. There was never any direct been communications with Ashley regarding this job which is why she has been in the dark about the entire project. We finished the roof and deck last year and installed all the railing on the deck portion and top rails and a section of the bottom stair rails. We still have not been paid in full for the work we have completed up to up to this point for labor and materials. The brand of railing they picked out at **** ***** no longer makes 8' stair railing for that model. I told her husband, Russ, that he would have to pick up the railing of their choice but all the options that were available didn't look good or flow with what was already installed and didn't head back from him as to that decision. He did want us to take two (2) 6' sections, splice them down and seal then at the joint and I explained to him that would compromise the integrity of the system and it couldn't be completed in that manner. I explained to Ashley she would have to pick up the stair railing of "her choice" and that it would not match due to manufacture not having that particular length in production anymore. Most stair railing is a special order and usually takes 2-4 weeks once the order has been placed. I will be sending her the current invoice and expect payment to be made or payment arrangements to be agreed upon before I send the crew over to install the railing she picks out. As soon as she chooses her railing brand for the stairs, the crew can get back over and finish that one section in a day. I will be picking up the left-over materials later this week to get them out of their play area. I was not aware of this until now.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.He knew that my husband and I weren’t together anymore and that I was the one in the house with the kids. My husband also stated that he’s been asking Ben for a statement and we have never received one. Ever. There were definitely a lot of wasted time on redoing things that were done wrong or from miscommunications. There is still painting to be done. Drywall needs finished from when they changed out 2 sliding doors and covered a window above one of the sliding doors. Ben said he would come over to do a walk through and talk about all that needs to be finished. Still waiting on him to get me a statement. So as long as communication and work starts back up I’m satisfied with his response. But would like this complaint to remain open until work is done.
