Mr. ******** first made contact with GEM Construction in December of 2020 about his project. In January of 2021, contact stopped as he was also talking to other contruction companies in the area, which is not uncommon in our field.

A few months later, he made contact again as he was unsatisfied with the deposit amount the other companies wanted. He made similar statements about the other contractors as he is making about me now. He also spoke harshly about the bank he was working with for funding at the time to the point of asking about banks I knew of in ********. I told him of the banks we have here.

After multiple email chains, phone calls and text message chains, we came to an agreement for the contract of building the home. I have the call logs, emails and text messages printed and stored in a binder.

After Mr. ******** secured funding through ******** **** ** ********, I went down to the bank to drop off a copy of the contract for the lender and speak to him about their deposits and payment process for the project. Mr. ******** was not present for this meeting.

The banker had informed me that material deposits would be made only after material was on site. This was agreeable between the banker and myself. I was also informed that funding would take a little more time as the loan had not been 100% approved at the time because he was waiting for more paperwork from Mr. ********.

Mr. ******** expressed his want to get the project started as they had the money in their savings account to pay for the dirtwork, done by his own contractor, and to pay for the foundation of the home. Myself, Mr. ******** and our concrete subcontractor agreed to start the project and Mr. ******** would pay my subcontractor directly. This is how we moved forward with the project.

At this point of the project, after the foundation had been completed, GEM Construction had been paid exactly zero dollars as my payments would come directly from the bank and the bank only.

Mr. ******** and I met at the project site after the foundation had been poured. He was unhappy and spoke very few words to me as he walked around the foundation before finally just walking away and back to his truck and leaving. Prior to this meting, his banker had contacted me to inform me that he was going out to the project site to do an inspection of work up to that point. When I informed him that the foundation had just been completed a few days prior, he acted surprised like he didn't know about the foundation being started yet. That was my last contact with the banker.

After that, I received numerous text messages from Mr. ******** that were very derogatory. In zero messages had he told me we had been fired from the project. This information came from the state of ****** as he had made a complaint.

At no point between then and now have I received any correspondence from a lawyer about a lawsuit directed at GEM Construction. I was informed of the lawsuit against ****** ************ from Darren and that he just didn't show and let his insurance pay.

Some time after I learned of the lawsuit I was not involved in, Mr. ******** sent a final text message threatening to come to my home and Darrens home, while giving our addresses, to come collect. I spoke with the police department and my lawyer. Under advisement, I told him that he will be blocked and not try to contact further. He sent another derogatory message before I had him number blocked. I sent a final message, which I am not sorry for sending.

Apparently, I am living rent free inside his head as the next morning I was receiving notification of reviews from websites I didn't know I was listed on. This complaint is the first I've heard since that day.

      ** *** ** *** ***** ** ** ******** ** ** * *** ***** **** ** * ******** **** ** ** *********** ******* ** *** * **** ***** ** **** **** ******** ** **** * *** ***** ** *** **** *** **** *** ** *** ** *** ************ ***** ** **** ** ******* *****

He did get his house built to my knowledge.

As for his claim that I don't know what I am doing or don't care about the quality of my work or workers around me, I have an extensive list of work references that would claim otherwise.

Thank you. Have a good day.

Yet another set of lies **** * ***** that doesn't know what he's doing. Who we utilized for a bank- ****** ******* couldn't get their act together. So he didn't speak with a banker about me.
