Had a hail storm in march of 2024. Had my insurance adjuster come out to see what needed fixed. And he told me that he couldn’t adjust the roof because it was installed wrong. So I contacted shocker home about issues and they told me that my warranty was out of warranty but they would send somebody out to look at roof and fix it when they had someone in the area. That was in may of 2024 and I have not seen anyone yet. I spoke to ******* and she relayed message to Jammie.

BBB Complaint received on 9/5/2024.  On, May 30, 2024 (Final walk through and acceptance of the home was on 2/1/2022 - well over his year warranty)  *** ******* did contact us regarding issues with his roof.  We had informed him that we could get someone out, but not immediately, however, if he would like to find a contractor of his choosing to get a bid for any required repairs and submit it to us and we could approve and he could utilize his own local contractor which might have been able to provide service in a more timely manner.  We never heard from *** ******* again.  Speaking with him today 9/5/2024 via phone, he stated his contractor never showed up to give him a bid and he made all the repairs himself.    We were not aware than *** ********* chosen local contractor never showed up or we would have gladly schedule to get the repairs done.  Again, we had discussed this issue with *** *******, the last discussion was on June 17, 2024 in which he stated that he was going to get a bid from a local contractor to make any needed repairs and we would pay for it.  We never heard from *** ******* again until this complaint.

Heard from ******* yesterday and she was not happy that I involved bbb on this case. She said she was waiting on me to get my contact to give them a bid on replacing my ridge cap. I told her that I got tired of waiting on them to repair my roof so I did it myself. They should have to pay me for the repairs before it started leaking again.

We have not received any type of cost estimate or invoice from the customer.  When speaking with the customer on September 5, 2024 he did not mention the desire for reimbursement.  From his verbal statement to us he put in a piece of plywood to cover a 4" gap which was not evident at our last service visit to his property on 10/12/2022.  See attached break down of service provided to *** *******.  We are not opposed to reimbursing the customer for materials and time, it was never brought up and we were never provided with any type of estimate for the work performed by the home owner on his home.  Warranty expired 11/18/2022.
