My husband and I bought our current home in October of 2022. Solid Construction were the ones who put the new roof on with the previous owners about 3 years ago. When we moved in, I noticed our laundry room got extremely hot when our dryer would run. It vents through the roof. After having someone come check out our dryer, they said that the issue is a clogged duct. I called Solid Construction to ask about the vent they put over the dryer duct on the roof. They claimed that this vent is used on all of their roofs, but they would send someone to take a look that following Monday. Nobody showed up, tried calling them & the line on Google no longer was connected. We did our best to try and clean the duct to see if this would help. Fast forward to July and we realized the problem was getting worse and that we needed to get it fixed before it got worse. My husband called a list of numbers he found online and finally got someone with Solid Construction. I believe ***** and ****** were their names. They said that the roof warranty doesn’t cover the vent and wanted us to get the shingles and supplies to fix it and they would come out. This was before they even looked at the problem. We decided to get a second opinion. The roofer we used took the vent off and was shocked that they used the type of vent they did for our dryer. It was completely full of lent. The roofer said that this should never have happened and that it’s a huge fire hazard. He urged us to contact Solid Construction to let them know their error and for them to cover it under their warranty since it should have never happened. I have pictures of the old vent full of lent, the correct vent that was put on our roof, and receipts. I contacted ****** who told me he would cover the cost of things and send me a check right away. No check had come and it’s been several weeks. Try to text and call ****** w/ no luck. We just want them to do the right thing. This could have had a terrible outcome if we didn’t fix it.
