On Oct 29, 2021, I traded my ************, which was paid for, in for a used ************* with Luxury & Imports lot in J****************. They did NOT include sales tax, after advising them I wanted to tag my **** in **. I've always tagged my vehicles in **, as ** is my home state. Getting tags requires property tax to be paid; this is separate from sales tax. Sales tax should have been included in my loan, not for me to have to come up with $****. This vehicle was in the shop for approximately 2 wks, just days after signing the paperwork, for the fuel pump and an engine issue. The sales girl promised to fix the passenger door as well, after noting it didn't close properly and was difficult to shut, stating the vehicle had not been in any accidents. She advised she would have their auto body shop fix it, which never happened. I was told this would NOT happen until they received the title to the *****. Twice I attempted to back this sale out, and have my ***** returned. They told me "it's too late, the loan was processed and is on your credit." Then, they would not return calls or messages. Now, I feel they were simply buying time. I had to apply for a lost title, as I could not find the original. All the paperwork for the lost title and the paperwork to tag the ****, was mailed together to ** with, what I thought was, the proper fees. About a week later, I received a call from the clerk's office in **, stating taxes would need to be paid at approx $****. This was when I discovered the dealership did NOT include taxes in my loan. I contacted the dealership, they said it was not their problem, and refused to return my *****. I can not afford to tag my car, which means this will affect my driving and working. ******************* I need to be able to get my child to school and myself to work. Now, the dealership is threatening legal action-as the lost title paperwork is sitting with the **** paperwork at the clerks office. They owe the $**** and the $*** for the door.
