We purchased the IGNITION GARAGE FAN HOSPITALITY DETAILS package for the May 15,2022 race. I have tried 2 times writing the race track to resolve my issue with no response. This package included appearances by ****** ***** ** and ******* *****, this appearance was canceled due to rain. However the event was indoors so not sure why they could not be there. The next event was lunch. Lunch was to be served at 11:30 and was not served until 12:45 and lukewarm food. The 3rd event was the garage tours. This was a guided tour and the guide went through the garage so fast that my husband who has medical issues could not keep up and we were left behind. Another event we paid for was drivers introductions and a live band. Again these events were canceled because it rained earlier in the day. At the time the events were scheduled to happen and an hour before the event it had stopped raining. When we purchased our tickets these were the events that the speedway was putting on and therefore should have provided as stated. If they were not able to provide such events, the customer should be given a refund as the speedway did not provide said services. If the speedway says no refunds because of having to cancel events then that is not fair for them to keep money for services not provided. I received an email forwarding the complaint you submitted to the Better Business Bureau earlier this evening. I am sorry that we did not respond to your prior attempts to resolve this - I’m not sure why that was the case, but plan to find out.
As you can probably imagine, the challenges associated with severe weather and/or heavy rain on the morning of the race greatly complicate almost everything we do, and often have “downstream” effects. In this case, the drivers that were supposed to make appearances in the Ignition Garage were scheduled to do other events with their team sponsors that had to be rescheduled and moved due to the weather, which then forced them to cancel the Ignition Garage appearances.
Regardless, we failed to meet your expectations, and I am sorry. We will certainly refund the cost of your Ignition Garage tickets. I will personally deal with this on Monday.
I would appreciate the opportunity to speak with you personally to better understand how we failed and hopefully how we can improve in the future. One item we’re discussing is moving the pre-race concert to either the Display Midway or a stage in turn 1. I’m not sure if we will make this change for the September race, but we are considering it in part to avoid cancellations like we had last month.
Please let me know if you would be willing to speak with me about your experience, and if so, when would be a good time for me to call (and the best number to reach you at).
Again, I am sorry both that we disappointed you on our event weekend, and that we failed again in not responding after the event. I wanted to respond tonight so that you knew the matter was going to be resolved.
