      A year ago I signed up for 5 extermination services through ECO Shield. After the 5th and final service, I was told that my contract was complete. I adviced ECO Shield that I would no longer be using their services. They called and text me a number of times to try and get me to keep my business with them. I asked them to no longer call or text me. After that I was given a bill for $218. I called to find out what this bill was for, and they said that it was a discount removal for the 2 year contact I had signed. I told them I did not sign a two year contact. They first said I responded yes to their text which is when I agreed to the two year service. That is untrue. I asked them to review the text confirming the contract was complete, they ignored it and tried to sell me again on keeping their service. They then said they can send me the contract I signed stating it was a 2 year contact. I said that is not what I signed up for, and either it was changed on the back end or the salesmen was not honest with what he said the contract was for. That was ignored. I then again said why would I be told the contract was complete if it wasnt? I asked for a manager, and was told none was available. That I would be called back. I have not been called back since that time. They are still trying to collect the amount they say is due.

      They made promises about my service that I was later informed wasn't possible and in one case even legal. They told me numerous people in my neighborhood used their service. Only to later find out none of the people mentioned did. I was actually told by one neighbor that they had tried the same tactic on them. They used a lot of empty promises to get my business. The sales person who sold me on the service claimed that he owned the company. I later found out from a technician that he absolutely didn't own the company, but was in fact a recent new hire. I think overall they just seem to make a lot of promises that they have no intention of keeping. If that's the case I'd prefer to not do anymore dealings with them.

      On March 2024, I had Ecoshield bat/mouse proof my house. I paid $4000 for this service. I've had to call Ecoshield at least 4 times because I was still had bats in my house. This last time I called I requested to speak to a manager that was over a week ago. I've left several messages for manager to call. I have not received a call back.

      Back in June 1923 I had just moved into my new home. ECOShield had was praying on this new build neighborhood of townhomes. They were going door-to-door the gentleman that knocked on my door lied to me and told me that one of my neighbors signed up and I was pretty good friends with her and I trusted that you know if she went with Eco shield. She was very confident that they were a good company, come to find out when I talk to her. They told her the same story that I signed up and that she would get a discount if she signed up so basically it’s been a big scam. I did sign up based on what he told me and I have not been happy with my service. I have called them out to do pest control for certain things. They never follow up. They put a mouse trap outside of my home and months and months went by and I had to contact them and say hello are you going to swap this out? Are you gonna check the trap? What’s going on? Oh yeah will be out there. So about a month ago, I had called because I have clover. Mites really bad. The guy that came out sprayed outside and he also sprayed inside this one area of my home where they were coming through the window. He sprayed the windowsill and saturated the casing so bad it drip down into my wall. I called the company back. Somebody came out. We tried to clean it. It still messed up. My window frame is totally being eaten up by whatever the solution was, but whatever solution they used it did not take away the clover situation whatsoever so apparently they don’t even have the chemicals to, get rid of that type of insect So my neighbor who was along with me, she was having problems with them so she called and she just kept raising a fuss with them and she got him to cancel and did not have to pay a cancellation fee and told them she just wanted out of the contract, I kind of want the same thing because it is just been a complete rip off. They don’t listen. They don’t come out when they’re supposed to. They have very shady employees and I just wanna go with a more reputable company. So since they ruined my windowsill in my wall, I’m willing to let them cancel my contract so that I can go forward with a new company

      They did not contact me in response to this complaint.  I called and they said I was no longer under contract, which i am sure is their way of getting out of any liability for ruining my window sill and frame with the oily spray they used.  They would not take responsibility for this.  I will still want to seek damages and be fully refunded for that service where they did the damage.

      Ecoshield is a scam company with sales people that mislead you about the service and contract. I had the service performed about 2 times, the service tech spent less than 5 min each time and was only came inside one of the service times when we paid for both in and out. Our bug problem got worse after service. The sales person was incredibly pushy and would not leave my front door while I had a newborn baby in my arms so I agreed to sign up for the service. He gave me his personal number and told me to reach out directly to him if I needed to cancel, he said the fee was waved, and if I had any issues to reach out to him directly since their customer service line was slow and unhelpful (his words). After reaching out multiple times regarding the service and cancellation fees I never heard anything. When I spoke to Eco Shield several times via text, email and phone they would not let me cancel. It was only after I removed my credit card that they canceled my account with a fee. I contacted them again several times after they pestered me for payment saying I would not pay the bill because of their misleading practices and lack of fulfillment of service which voids the contract. I’ve only just now paid the bill after they threatened to send my bill to collections. They should at least return my money for the cancellation fee since they did not properly fulfill their end of the agreement and for their intentional mislead sales team.

      During late summer/early fall of 2023 I was approached via a door to door salesman about the pest control services Ecoshield offered. The salesman offered substantial discounts to the price of the service under the stipulation that I would have to perform at least 4 services before I could cancel without a fee. I was fine with this, as they also offered to insure any work they did if we saw any pests appear after any of the services for free. With that I signed the contract. The problem came today, 1/29/24 when the 4th and supposedly final service was performed. I called to cancel my service since I was less than impressed with the effectiveness of the product they used even with several more trips out to make sure the job was done. When I called to cancel, they told me I would actually need to perform 5 service appointments, not 4 which is what I was initially sold. They also told me they could not do anything about it since what was in the contract was not what I was sold, but I had agreed. With the deception, I have decided to launch this complaint as this is honestly ridiculous that a company can be so brazen about lying to a customers face. I will be calling my local office to make sure they are aware of this issue as well.

      August 10, 2023 Ecoshield employee, **** *********** came to my door offering exterminator services, including ants, chiggers and ticks. He said I could cancel the services anytime. Their services were effective on some of the spiders, but not the ants, chiggers and ticks. I called Ecoshield on 09/08/23 at 11:30 AM. They said they would have to come back and do the 60 day treatment, which would cost over $200, I declined and said I wanted to cancel all services from them. I was transferred to another department, and then again transferred to a supervisor who used high pressure sales tactics saying that I would have to pay a cancellation fee of $150. I insisted on that call, that I wanted my service cancelled immediately, and my account to be closed. Three days later, 09/11/23 Ecoshield did a treatment on my property without my permission, while I was out of town, and now they are claiming that I owe $206.20 for that treatment even though I called and cancelled 3 days prior. They are also claiming I owe $150 early cancellation fees. This is not what I was promised on Aug 10th when I signed up for the services, which was done on his iPad, in tiny print, and he did not give me time to read the contract, and just scrolled down and said sign here and call my cell phone number directly if you ever have any problems or want to cancel. Since then, he has not answered any of my calls or texts. Ecoshield's general number is a call center and I have not been able to speak to anyone. I feel that Ecoshield's services did not meet the expectations of the contract, since I still had issues with spiders. ants and ticks, and had to hire a different company to address those issues. Furthermore, Ecoshield did not honor my request to cancel services, and were on my property, treating my property without permission. Account ********

      I signed up for a pest control treatment and was told it included treatment for lantern flies. After my 1st treatment I was then told that the lantern flies were not covered but they would treat for them. I then was told after 2 months of waiting that I was enrolled in a mosquito program for the lantern flies that I never signed up for.

      I contracted for outdoor pest control. The company has overcharged me based on what their agent explained to me when he came to my house (unsolicited). He explained that they already had customers in the area, so he was offering a great deal of $300 for service for six months. THEN they charged me another $179, and the contract requires more payments. This is not what I agreed to with their agent. The company says the contract says otherwise. I also object th them telling me I just did not understand. I am African American, but not stupid, I have two college degrees, so listening to them tell me what the contract says was insulting. I just want to be done with EcoShield!

      I am filling this out for the Omaha, NE location simply because the real one in Lenexa, KS is not on the BBB website. The EcoShield salesperson came to my door and explained the services to me. I said I would look into the price and compare services against who I already use. I asked for a card so I could contact if I wanted to move forward. He said that he could email it to me and had me sign his phone. He specifically said it was *just* to give permission to email me. He *explicitly* told me I was not making a commitment. By the time I settle back down inside about 5 minutes later, I get a copy of my "agreement," which is for 2 years, and a notice of my appointment the very next day at 6pm. I have already sent, in writing, my cancellation of Account ********* But they say they are coming tomorrow. If they arrive, I'm going to politely ask the person to leave my property. This company obtained my signature under false pretenses and did not give me the contract to inspect and look over—the salesperson simply gave me his phone. This is unacceptable, and I want to submit a complaint so that others won't fall into the same trap and to protect myself from having to pay if they come tomorrow and insist on doing work when I explicitly tell them not to.
