I needed a truck for work fast and came across the vehicle with this company. I wanted to take a look at the 2014 Toyota tundra, however I was told I had to prepay the vehicle before I could see it and was told I could not put a deposit down on it either. After I paid $14,995, $2,000 cash and the rest via check I was able to finally see the vehicle. I discovered the air conditioning compressor is bad, the bearings are bad, the brakes front and rear need to be replaced (hitting the brakes it makes the vehicle shake) the front and back wheels were different sizes, license plate light is out. I told them to fix these things and they did not. The vehicle is straight up unsafe and wont pass inspection.

We do not have record of anyone by this name contracting to buy a vehicle from our inventory. We have been in business over 45 years, 24 at this location and our company policy is, we do not take deposits to hold vehicles that a person has not seen. Also we would never ask a person to prepay for a vehicle before they could see it. The person who authored this complaint has an entirely fabricated story.

Our records indicate the most recent 2014 Toyota Tundra that was sold from our inventory was sold in April of 2024 and that customer arranged to have a Toyota franchise dealer inspect the vehicle before the purchase. This particular sale was a 10 year old vehicle with over 217,000 miles.

The written warranty agreement when that purchase was made states that the dealership has an in-house drive train failure warranty of 30 days or 1000 miles, whichever occurs first.
At that time of purchase all of our customers are encouraged to have the vehicle they are considering inspected in any way you felt necessary before entering a contract to purchase.
This request does not fall into the terms of our written warranty.

bought a 2014 ********** back in April 2021 with an extended warranty which was recommended by Justin the used car salesman. Recently had a mechanical issue. Called the warranty company ************** to start a claim. I was told my warranty was void since there was a cold air intake was installed. I told them that was the cold air intake was installed before I purchased the car. I called Justin the used car salesman at town n county. He said there was nothing he could do but cancel the warranty and prorate the remaining amount of the warranty back. I explained the situation to him letting him know that he sold me a warranty that was void from the start. I asked him how long he worked with the warranty company. He said several years. He was not willing to work with me at all. I would not recommend anyone do business w/ these ******. Sad thing is Justin swore to God he didn't know that the cold air intake was previously installed.

Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2022/01/04) */ Re; 2014 **************** ***************** The customer has repeatedly brought up the air filter in this post denial correspondence. After talking to the warranty company claims adjuster and the warranty company sales representative, they both were adamant that the customer was informed the primary reason the claim was denied was that the vehicle was driven 16,878 miles in almost 9 months and the customer could not provide evidence of changing the oil even one time since purchase. The customer was refunded a prorated amount of $******* or **** percent of his original purchase price of the warranty. We buy and sell over a thousand vehicles per year and cannot be expected to remember individual options or parts on specific vehicles. The customer was also presented with the option to take the vehicle, and have it inspected in any way they felt necessary before entering a contract to purchase. Consumer Response /* (3000, 12, 2022/01/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I provided the insurance company a document of an oil change that was completed. The other oil charges I completed myself. I did not retain the receipt for the oil changes since I was not made aware of the requirement. Also I was told that I was required to call the insurance company to notify them of when I do my own oil changes. Justin from town & country told me he drove the vehicle to and from work. It would make since he would have been aware of which equipment was installed on the car. I did ask Justin if there was anything that I should be aware of in purchasing the extra insurance. He said no. I believe that Justin with his several years of experience he knew exactly what he was doing. In regards to the denial of my claim. It was made clear to me from the insurance rep that the claim would have been denied due to the fact that the cold air intake was installed. I have read several other negative complaints about this dealership. Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2022/01/15) */ The contract clearly states that it is the owner's responsibility to have the engine oil changed by a repair facility according to vehicle manufacturers specifications. Consumer Response /* (4200, 16, 2022/01/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The deceptive sales tactics used in the sale of there product creates a disadvantage to everyday consumers. I think they should be flagged for such practices.
