When I use my debit card I receive 2 charges. One charge for the amount of purchase and a second charge, random amounts. The first 2 times it happened in January I did not catch it in time and did not have a receipt to prove my purchase, but knew I did not use my card 2 times in a row at that store. The third time it happened I saw it almost immediately and went back over to the store and spoke with the clerk. She called her manager to report it, even though I did not have a receipt she remembered what she rang up. It took several days of going in there complaining in front of other customers to get my $** back. I usually use cash when I go there, but last week I forgot to bring cash and asked the clerk and manager if they were still having problems with the card scanner and they both told me no, they didn't know what I was referring to. I explained it to them and they said there have not been any issues lately that they are aware of. When I checked my online banking, sure enough, there's an extra charge. I cannot be the only one this is happening to and it's been going on for over 5 months that I know of. It is an absolute scam. I spoke to a manager in February and they said he's getting a new machine. Recently I spoke to someone that knows the owner, they said that he's getting a new machine, it's been 4 months since I was told that the first time and that hasn't happened yet. They are scamming people out of money every day and without getting a receipt they can't prove it. Most people don't get a receipt for their small purchases, they just rely on online bank statements. They need to quit stealing other people's hard earned money. And if the owner had any intention of replacing the card scanner, it should've been done many months ago.
