On this day, 03/8/2024 ***** Lanning of Absolute Interlock has engaged in unethical/fraudulent business operations. I am required to have an interlock per administrative action by Kansas. Absolute Interlock LLC is a state licensed provider of interlock devices to fulfill state legal requirements. When I initially started the program, ***** told me they would be able to service and maintain my device for the full duration of my required interlock period. When I went to get my device serviced on 03/08/2024, ***** told me they are willingly shutting down as a business. They did so without any contingency plan in place. They are requiring me now to pay the removal fee of my device, which I will subsequently have to pay another removal fee at the next provider I choose, because of their failure to plan for the future. ***** told me that if I do not choose the ****** Interlock location in Olathe that they recommended, that they would not pay my installation fee at my chosen interlock provider. This is issue because I have the right of choice for my interlock provider. Absolute interlock, is willfully coercing me into choosing the interlock provider that they want me to use. Because they are extorting me with money, which I am rightfully entitled to, in order to choose a specific provider that they have made an arrangement with. There is motivation, means, and opportunity for Absolute Interlock to commit fraud in this scenario, and that is what I am worried is happening. This is a state licensed provider. They are bound by state law to let me choose my provider. At this time, I request the free removal of my device by Absolute Interlock. As well as the installation of my new device, at the state licensed provider of my choice. This is my initial ask. If this cannot be provided, I will be seeking full compensation for all payments I have made on my device. Including but not limited to: Monthly charges, state charges, initial set up, removal, and any additional fees.
