I asked for an estimate and their estimate is prices for a full roof but all I need is a repair no reason to charge 12000 dollars for a simple repair they are price gouging I've talked to others they just need minner repair and same thing price for a new roof when you just need a repair

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We take all customer concerns seriously and strive to provide the highest quality service at fair and competitive prices.
We understand the frustration that can come with unexpected home repairs, especially when they are caused by something as unforeseen as a tree falling on your house. After receiving your request for an estimate, we carefully evaluated the damage and provided an estimate that reflects the necessary repairs to restore your roof to a safe and functional condition.
It is important to clarify that our estimate is based on the extent of the damage observed during the inspection. The damage caused by a fallen tree can often be more extensive than it initially appears, potentially affecting structural elements that are not immediately visible. Our goal is to ensure that all necessary repairs are addressed to prevent further issues in the future.
Regarding the concern of price gouging, we want to assure you that this is not the case. Our pricing is based on industry standards and the specific requirements of the repair. We adhere to ethical practices and do not inflate prices for profit. The estimate provided to you is for the necessary repair work, not a full roof replacement. However, the cost may appear high due to the comprehensive nature of the repair work required to ensure the integrity and safety of your home.
We encourage customers to obtain multiple estimates for comparison. It’s possible that the estimates you received from other sources may differ due to varying assessments of the damage or differences in the scope of work proposed. We stand by our assessment and are committed to providing quality service that ensures your roof is repaired correctly and safely.
If you have any further questions or would like to discuss the estimate in more detail, please feel free to contact us directly. We are more than willing to address any specific concerns you may have and work with you to find a satisfactory resolution.
      Thank you for your understanding.

      Dear Better Business Bureau,
We have received the complaint from ****** ******* regarding the estimate provided for roof repairs following a tree fall incident. We appreciate the opportunity to respond and clarify the situation.
After assessing the damage to *** ********s roof, our team determined that significant repair work was necessary to ensure the structural integrity and safety of the home. (A tree fell on it which damages more than just shingles) Our estimate reflects the scope of work required to address all visible and potential hidden damages caused by the tree.
We understand the customer's concern about the cost and allegations of price gouging. However, we want to emphasize that our pricing is based on industry standards and the specific repair needs identified during the inspection. The estimate provided is not for a full roof replacement but rather for the comprehensive repairs needed to restore the roof to its proper condition.
Our company operates with the highest ethical standards, and we categorically deny any claims of price gouging. We encourage our customers to obtain multiple estimates to ensure they are comfortable with the proposed costs and scope of work. It is possible that differences in estimates arise due to varying assessments of the damage and the extent of repairs required.
We are committed to transparency and customer satisfaction. We have reached out to *** ******* to address his concerns and are willing to discuss the estimate in detail to ensure he understands the necessity of the proposed repairs.
Please feel free to contact us if further information or clarification is needed. We appreciate your assistance in resolving this matter.
      Sincerely,
      **** *******

Bought my current house in May 2023, about 11 months after Shamrock replaced the roof on this house under an insurance claim by the previous owner. It was documented then that Shamrock had failed to seal the roof and did not install bird blocks at all corners. This allowed bats into the attic after Shamrock's warranty had expired. Then, water damage was found in the attic behind my chimney due to poor installation of flashing on the roof. We had to pay $10,700 to remove the bats and replace the attic insulation. Shamrock's response to my inquiries was as follows: After reviewing the information and the claims against our company we have determined we have no legal grounds to pay for anything. The workmanship warranty with the homeowner you bought the house from was over in June of this year. There was nothing signed or stated that the warranty was transferable as well. The previous customer who we put the roof on for had no issues or there were no issues brought to our attention during the time the workmanship warranty was in force. For these reasons we considered the matter closed and no other action is required from Shamrock. Please address all other communications to ************************ if you feel the need to communicate further. Regardless of the warranty, Shamrock is refusing to recognize their error or provide any remedy to me. Numerous other issues with their roof installation including loose drip edges, poor flashing installation at seams, and holes behind gutters have been discovered, but again, Shamrock's response is just about legally protecting themselves. Their behavior in this issue does not merit their high rating.

Here are the facts.  The person complaining is not our customer.  We do not have a contract with them.  We were never made aware of any workmanship issues with the person we had the contract with during the time the warranty was in force.  The workmanship warranty was not transferrable.  There may have been bats in the attic previously before we even replaced the roof, who knows.  It goes on and on.  The current homeowner spent money on something we did not know about nor had the opportunity correct at our cost.  No communication was made to Shamrock during the warranty period.  If the property was truly sold in May and we were not notified prior to the sale our warranty was over.  Anyone can get work done and try to make someone else pay for it.  We do take care of our customers.  Not our customer.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and while I am disappointed by Shamrock's take on the situation, I accept their response at this point. To give credit to their viewpoint, A different roofer I trust observed that it was just as likely that the bird block that I thought Shamrock had failed to install was never there before the roof replacement began. I can say that we did not hear the bats in our attic until a few months after we moved into the home in May 2023, but again that does not prove that Shamrock was culpable for their presence.

I could not have had Shamrock out to fix the bat issue as by then, it had become a pest-control and insulation problem. The work on the flashing around my chimney was sub-standard but easily fixed and I admit that i have no other major concerns with the roof now.

Thank you for taking my complaint and responding to it, and yes I will be closing this thread out now. Shamrock likely faces many complaints like this that are beyond their control/scope, and since I have no concrete proof that they are the reason bats were allowed into the attic, I cannot hold them accountable here.

      Sincerely,

      ***** ******

To whom it may concern I did not do any business with Shamrock Roofing & Construction that's what makes this situation even worse however I allowed them to use my property to do a roofing job for a neighbor whom I do not know I was extremely courteous. Shamrock Roofing & Construction completely destroyed my property although Shamrock Roofing & Construction put down new grass on the property first of all it was the wrong grass second of all it was cheaply poorly & unprofessionally done along with the fact that they wanted me & my neighbor to water a 0.28 acre lot that's how much land they destroyed. First of all I don't want my neighbor touching my property this neighbor obviously didn't care what happened to a possession that was not his own & secondly it is not my job to do all this watering nor the neighbors I tried to help Shamrock Roofing & Construction by making an attempt to water but it's really not up to me to do that Shamrock Roofing & construction is supposed to see this entire process through until I am completely satisfied. I reached out to **** of Shamrock Roofing & construction with a text message & a picture of the grass on August 24th at 7:23 p.m. I let him know I was trying to water it but it was just too hot. Obviously it's a lot of property that they destroyed I received no response from **** nor the GM *** * **** is the same gentleman that said he was going to make the property quote on quote was "BETTER THAN IT WAS BEFORE" However it was nothing wrong with my property before Shamrock Roofing & Construction came around. I'm not a customer of this roofing company I'm a person who was trying to be helpful only because they asked me for a favor **** knows I was not really wanting to help Shamrock nor my neighbor but I went against my better judgment. Shamrock Roofing & Construction gave me they're word they would make things right they have not done so I didn't have to be helpful & I'm the one being treated unprofessionally in the process.

*** ******* is correct.  He did let us use his yard.  His neighbors house is 4 levels high.  He understood we were having a large piece of equipment on his property.  Unfortunately the ground was too soft and the crew left ruts.  In order to make things right we hired a landscape company to level and re-sod the damaged areas.  When we re-sodded the temperatures were above 100 degrees.  He was adamant about getting this taken care of so we did.  Sodding under these conditions even with watering may not be sufficient.   The fact is *** ******* allowed us to access his property.  The yard had a mix of grass types.  The yard is now level.  Seeding the area in the fall and again in the spring along with watering it will bring it back to an acceptable level in our opinion.  We accepted the majority of the responsibility.  We feel some responsibility lies with *** *******.

We have already responded to this complaint and our stance is the same.  We repaired the damaged yard.  It did not get watered.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

Shamrock Roofing was & is unprofessional the property in question is not fixed Shamrock Roofing is inconsistent Shamrock Roofing did not value someone else's property as they destroyed the property in question Shamrock Roofing did not water the property nor fix the property to the owners satisfaction as promised by employees of Shamrock Roofing our position is the same Shamrock Roofing didn't do what was promised to the owner which renders Shamrock Roofing still responsible for the destruction of the property this is completely unprofessional & this situation is not resolved

Damage to window screen, roofing nails in driveway, damage to a 10 year old evergreen bush, Gutter screen thrown in the trash after asking them to put that back on and not put new gutters on after the new roof was installed. We came home one day to find that new gutters had been installed, with the most expensive screens they had, the holes were not big enough for drainage, and the screens just allow debris to pile on top of the gutter. When I complained, they removed the new expensive screens and gave me a refund of $4,200.00 even though I paid $6,000.00.
