Awful experience from beginning to what is still no end. I helped my 21 year old son find an inpatient program for both Mental Health needs and Alcohol Recovery after he was placed in jail and is facing prison time, due to an incident that occurred while he was highly intoxicated and was without mental health support. We were promised that they would be able to provide, updated mental health diagnoses as an adult and would offer an extended stay program of 60-90 days on the first call. After working with them and them stating he was approved for entry and that insurance was settled, we made a 13 hour trip to commit him to the program. I received a call 12 days later that my son could no longer stay there "because insurance did not approve any more days". Come to find out the facility did not file the prior authorization correctly and claim to this date has actually been filed after they advised me I had to help them appeal it after they sent my son home, with very limited treatment, no updated diagnoses and no aftercare program as promised. We are still awaiting their return call about what our financial obligation is, and we were told a month ago that someone at Arista would call to discuss this with us. I have spoken to the Director 2x over this last month in an attempt to find this out and advise of the issues with the facility. He has promised return calls to answer this question as well as help with aftercare arrangements, to which no one has made the attempt to call to advise as of today. In the meantime, my son cannot seek additional needed care under his insurance, as we are not sure how his $5K deductible that we assume we owe to Arista will be handled, so he is waiting to seek the care he needs to potentially avoid a prison sentence, as our family had paid more than we can afford for the current situation in court, bail, attorney's and now his recovery care. I have a log of all contacts and conversations documented if needed.
