We tore out a blacktop drive and replaced it with concrete in August 2020 using Enkore. We paid $26,500. After less than two years we started seeing small cracks starting. The owner, David, came out once last fall after numerous phone calls and texts over the 1 1/2 years as I watched the cracks grow. He promised to fill them and fix them before last winter, he never showed. This spring the cracks grew across several squares and were significant, as well as the number increased. He responded once to my numerous calls and texts and said they had paying jobs that were their priority. Now the cracks are continuing and I am not getting any response from them at all. I will have to seek another contractor before fall or else we risk crumbling, which has started, and greater decline.

In response to the complaint, Enkore offers a one-year warranty for regular and designer concrete. The warranty pledges all materials and workmanship provided will be free of defect and will perform properly for a period of one year from the day of the commencement of use, substantial completion of the project or a date of notice of completion of the project, whichever is the first to occur. The warranty specifically addresses concrete cracks. Enkore does not expect random cracks to occur but Enkore does not warrant the pavement to be totally crack free. Enkore anticipates the stress of the new concrete is subjected to and installs expansion joints and tooled joints to minimize cracking. Enkore will repair concrete cracks only if the crack is greater than 1/4” wide or 1/4” in vertical displacement. Repair of concrete cracks with caulk is acceptable.  Exterior concrete can be damaged by many factors beyond our control. Damage from salt, chemicals, mechanical equipment vehicles, normal wear and tear and things out of our control are not covered by this warranty. Enkore is not liable for repair conditions caused by misuse or abuse, earthquake, soil movement, storms, accidents or acts of God.

The job was completed August, 2020 and the first communication via email was received July 11, 2023 informing there were two hairline cracks emerging. One by the drive from the street and the other is up against the garage. This email was received well over the one-year warranty period. Yes, there were numerous calls and text between both parties; however, scheduling between both parties has been difficult with vacations, out of town, etc.  On April 2, 2024 Enkore offered to repair the hairline cracks and will stand by that offer by repairing with concrete caulk. The customer can expect a phone call within 15 business days to set a date that’s agreeable to both parties.

In my response, I offered a phone call with 15 business days to set a date for both parties.  When does the 15 business day start? I don’t want that date to pass and not contact her.
