The owner of Luxe Design + Build, ******* ***** was the general contractor that I hired to build my house at *** ******* **** Lane in Sterling, KS. I had made my last payment to him and received a statement dated 12/27/2023 that showed everything was paid in full. On the billing statement, there was a line item that indicated there was a 10% hold-back for $1,560 until punch items were completed. I was never presented with a punch list and the remaining work on the project was never completed. On the project completion list of charges there was nothing listed about a hold-back charge and all work that was performed was paid. On April 4, 2024, workers showed up to do some touch-up painting, unannounced, and without my knowledge, they touched up some spots but the paint clearly did not match and now I will have to repaint what they painted without permission. On April 9th, I again informed ******* that his services were no longer needed and neither he nor his crew were to return to my property. On April 12, 2024, I received a bill for $1,834.72 and was told that the amount increased due to the $50 late fee. On April 14th I was presented with a bill for $1,934.72 and was told the increase was included a 2nd late fee. I have attempted to explain to ******* Winn that these charges are not fair because I was never given a final punch list of the items to be completed and several items still needed to be completed on the house. ******* insists that I now owe him $1,934 and the amount will increase $50 per day for work that was never completed.
